Bethesda man is sentenced for unlawful sexual conduct

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Logan Galbreath will be spending time behind bars, having been sentenced Wednesday for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Galbreath, 21, with a “default address” of 202 Church St., Bethesda according to court records, pleaded guilty to the fourth-degree felony on March 15. He will spend six months in the Belmont County Jail and six months at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center, with a reserve sentence of 1½ years should he commit any violations.

He was designated a Tier 2 sex offender and upon release will be required to register his address with law enforcement for 25 years.

Belmont County Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Vavra gave some details of the case, which took place in early April of 2022 when Galbreath was 19. Vavra said the incident occurred in the city of St. Clairsville. Galbreath’s victim was a 13-year-old girl.

“The victim is a minor, so I can’t divulge too much specifics,” he said. “I think they met at the Dairy Queen in St. Clairsville and she got in his car and they went somewhere. The activity took place in the car.”

He said the girl reported this to a school counselor and it came to the attention of law enforcement.

Vavra added Galbreath had no prior offenses.

“We do think it was an appropriate sentence. Everything was discussed with the victim and her family before it took place,” he said. “We’re satisfied with the resolution.”
