By KAILEY CARPINO 2 min read

MARTINS FERRY -- The Martins Ferry Lions Club is now accepting applications for food and craft vendors for its third annual Fall Fest.

The date for this year's festival will be Oct. 14 from noon to 7 p.m. in the Martins Ferry City Park.

"We're really excited. We had a huge turnout last year," Kayla Shreve, president of the Martins Ferry Lions Club, said.

The Fall Fest will feature musical guests Josh Sokolowski and Twice as Nice. The event will also have a kid zone, beer garden, craft fair and cornhole tournament.

Shreve said that herself and the Lions Club listened to feedback from last year's festival, and they plan to make improvements this year.

"The kid's zone will be a lot bigger this year. We're adding more games and inflatables. Also, the cornhole tournament will be bring your own partner style," Shreve said.

Shreve said the Lions Club still has a lot of planning to do and that the community can look forward to "a lot of surprises" this year.

The Lions Club will release more details closer to the date of the festival. Visit its Facebook page for more information.

The Martins Ferry Lion Club is a volunteer nonprofit group. The group awards a scholarship to a local high school student each year and donates to other charitable organizations. The group already has over 40 members, and it is expanding yearly. The Martins Ferry Lions Club recently participated in the Strawberry Festival, and the club also plans to participate in Betty Zane Days this year.

All money raised at the Fall Fest will go back to the Lions Club for local community service projects.

Those interested in becoming a vendor can message the Martins Ferry Lions Club on Facebook or send an email to mflionsclub@yahoo.com.
