Harrison County Fair in full swing
CADIZ — The Harrison County Fair continues providing attendees with fun activities every day this week.
The event features animal shows, Junior Fair exhibits, rides, concession stands, wood carving and truck and tractor pulls.
David Welch of Hopedale said he enjoys the many food trucks and concession stands at the fair.
“There’s so much variety. If you want to have a full meal or just a snack, there’s a lot of good food here,” he said.
Yesterday attendees enjoyed the rabbit show, beef show and a tractor and truck pull.
Emma Johnson, 11, of Cadiz, got to see the Junior Fair’s rabbit show.
“I really like seeing all the animals. The rabbits are my favorite,” Johnson said.
The event started Monday and runs until Saturday night. The remaining events include:
Today — horse and PAS qualifying show at 9 a.m., dairy show at 10 a.m., goat show at 5 p.m. and NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 p.m.;
Friday — companion show at 8:30 a.m., horse versatility at 9 a.m., livestock sale at 1 p.m., small animal sale at 1 p.m., large animal sale at 4 p.m., RC Demo Derby at 6 p.m., and Demo Derby by Old School MotorSports at 7 p.m.;
Saturday — Farm Stock Tractor Pull at 9 a.m., Horse Fun Show at 10 a.m., Library Day at 11 a.m., Election of Fair Board Directors from 1-5 p.m., Pee Wee Clinic at 3 p.m., Supreme Showmanship at 4 p.m., Power Pulling Productions LLC Truck and Tractor Pulls at 6 p.m., and square dancing at 8:30 p.m.
Conotton Creek Woodworks from Scio will be demonstrating small carvings on Friday and Saturday.
Admission for ages 3 and older is $10 per person, and rides are included with admission. Free parking is available throughout the fairgrounds.
Amusement rides will be open from 5-10 p.m. until Friday, and 1-5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. on Saturday.
The Harrison County Fair was sponsored by the Kimble Company, South Central Power, First National, Novelis, Fuse Tech Inc., Border Patrol, Milestone Company, Circle L Fence and the Harrison County Farm Bureau.
The shows were sponsored by L&D Sales and Service, ARBA-VUE Farms, Water Transport Nathan Springer and Short Creek Sportsman’s Club.
The fair is at the fairgrounds located at 550 Grant St. in Cadiz.
