Minister, performer Shawn Chrisagis dies

YORKVILLE — Shawn Chrisagis, a well-known local minister and performer, died Tuesday at age 55.

Brian Chrisagis announced the death of his twin brother, Shawn, on Tuesday afternoon on the Chrisagis Brothers Productions Facebook page. Brian Chrisagis later posted on his personal Facebook page that his brother died of a massive heart attack at his home in Yorkville.

“Let my brother’s memory be a good one. He changed Hollywood for Christ and gave quality programs. He ministered all over the country with music videos that appeared on MTV. … He had created a children’s show with me and my older brother called The Good news Network. … Shawn was without a doubt a force to be reckoned with. He created a Legends event that was yearly with CCM artists and he was the mastermind of every project we ever did. He also was a talented artist. He fulfilled so many dreams with me that I feel very empty without him,” Brian posted on Facebook.

Shawn Chrisagis was an ordained minister from Yorkville. He had released 10 music CDs with his brother and had a radio show and a children’s television series.

The Chrisagis Brothers held their most concert on May 6 at Buckeye Local High School.

Before Shawn passed away, the Chrisagis Brothers had planned to hold a “Christmas with the Stars” concert on Nov. 11 at the Capitol Theater in Wheeling featuring Erik Estrada, Loni Anderson, Kevin Sorbo, Stefanie Powers, Lorenzo Lamas, Karen Grace Cadle and Max Winfrey.
