ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Buffalo Creek Country opened its doors for the first time in the Ohio Valley Mall on Wednesday.

The store specializes in country, primitive and rustic home decor. Buffalo Creek Country features pictures, wall-hangings, candles, yard flags and other decorative items for the home, and many of the items are handmade.

The store also offers a broad selection of prints by Billy Jacobs, a painter and woodcrafter from Navarre, Ohio.

Buffalo Creek Country is located in the Dunham Sports concourse next to Lids and across from Finish Line.

The store consists of nearly 1,900 square feet of merchandise.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Although the store is a new addition to the mall and to the St. Clairsville area, this is not Buffalo Creek Country’s first time doing business in the Ohio Valley.

The locally owned business was open for nearly five years in Wheeling’s Centre Market. That location closed about a year ago. But Buffalo Creek Country first came to Eastern Ohio in 2015 when it opened in Bellaire.

The Ohio Valley Mall is owned by the Cafaro Co., one of the nation’s largest privately held shopping center developers. Joe Bell, director of corporate communications for Cafaro, said that the store will be a great addition to the Ohio Valley Mall.

“It’s not a very large store, but it carries very specialized goods. Our plan at the Cafaro Company is to cater to all different tastes in the region. The specialized goods that Buffalo Creek Country provides fit into that plan. It’s a great store for anyone looking to buy rustic, primitive or country decor,” Bell said.
