MARTINS FERRY -- The Martins Ferry Lions Club will host its annual Fall Fest from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Martins Ferry City Park.
The third annual festival will feature a cornhole tournament, food vendors, a kids' zone, live music, a beer garden, a craft fair and more.
"We have a full day of family fun prepared," Barb Ballint, senior projects chairwoman for the Lions Club, said.
"We're really excited. We had a huge turnout last year," Kayla Shreve of the Martins Ferry Lions Club, said.
Ballint said the event will have more than 12 food vendors and several craft vendors.
"This is a record-breaking year for us. We've never had this many vendors," she said.
Ballint said that several crafters interested in setting up for the Fall Fest reached out to the Lions Club.
"It really shows the growth of the event," she said.
The Fall Fest will feature musical guests Josh Sokolowski, who will perform from 1-3 p.m., and Twice as Nice, who will perform from 4-7 p.m.
Shreve said she and the Lions Club members listened to feedback from last year's festival, and they plan to make improvements this year.
"The kids' zone will be a lot bigger this year. We're adding more games and inflatables. Also, the cornhole tournament will be bring-your-own-partner style," Shreve said.
The kids' zone will be larger than ever with multiple inflatables, games, pumpkin painting, a clown, prizes and a newly added magic show. Wristbands for the kids zone will be $15.
The John-O-Rama the Magnificent's Magic Show will start at 3 p.m.
The cornhole tournament will start at noon. Blind draw games will take place at noon and 1 p.m. where individuals will be teamed up randomly. The main event will take place at 4 p.m., when participants can bring their own partner.
The winners of the cornhole tournament will receive cash prizes provided by Unified Bank. Currently, the team in first place will receive $300, the team in second place will receive $200 and the team in third place will receive $50. The prizes may increase as more people enter and submit their entry fees.
Those who wish to participate in the cornhole tournament must register on the Scoreholio app and pay an entry fee before the event.
"We look forward to the Fall Fest every year, and it grows a little every year. We've had great community support," Ballint said.
All money raised at the Fall Fest will go back to the Lions Club and fund community projects.
The club hosted First Responders Appreciation drawings during the week of 9/11 to recognize first responders. The winning first responders each received a $10 gift card that they can use at the Lions Club food truck or beer garden during the event.
