Man accused of fatal head-on in Flushing arraigned

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Benjamin Fred Romshak, accused of causing a fatal head-on collision in mid-November that cost a Bellaire woman her life, was arraigned Monday.

He is being held with no bond at the Belmont County Jail, facing a charge of third-degree felony vehicular manslaughter. Investigators believe speed and reckless driving to be factors in the crash.

It is alleged that Romshak went left of center on Ohio 331 and struck a vehicle operated by Sunni Rae Scott of Bellaire, manager of Sunni Rae’s Buy Sell Trade in Flushing. Rae, 49, died later that month after undergoing multiple surgeries.

Romshak reportedly was arrested during this past weekend on an unrelated warrant. His preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 2, his plea agreement hearing deadline for Jan. 29 and his trial Feb. 13.
