MARTINS FERRY -- Members of the Martins Ferry High School Horseshoe Club decorated Christmas trees on Thursday at the uptown park. The trees and decorations were donated by members of the community.
The park is located at the corner of Fifth Street and Hanover Street.
Mayor John Davies said that the city holiday decorations are completed. He said that next year will be different. He said that city workers will be in charge of the decorations and will store them in a safe place after the holidays are over. Davies said that he hopes to have the decorations hung the week before Thanksgiving in the future.
Volunteers from the Horseshoe Club were Nolan Zambori, Taylor Tucker, Vincent West, Addison Baker, Kaitlyn Clary, Paisley Coe, Levi Briggs, Gracie Lucas, Sarah Shreve, Makayla Cole, Trajan Boggs, Makenzie Garrison, Alivia Reese, Madison Hibbitts and Ramona Hayes.
Davies said that any groups or organizations that would like to help out with decorating the city for next year need to contact the city. The mayor's office can be reached at 740-633-2876.
