FLUSHING -- Sammy Kershaw and Bryan Martin will headline a Ranch Night BBQ & Concert presented by Dutton Cattle Co. in June.
The former Blame My Roots Fest Facebook page changed its name to Ranch Night BBQ & Concert late Thursday, ahead of what BMR co-founder Chris Dutton had said would be a Friday announcement about a one-time musical event on his family's farm. It also added a link to duttonranchnight.com, where details of the June 7 farm-to-table concert are listed.
Blame My Roots announced in December that it was being "retired" after organizers had been unable to secure a headliner for its 2024 show. BMR, a multi-day country music festival, began in 2019 at Valley View Campgrounds along National Road east of Morristown to fill the void left when Jamboree In The Hills was discontinued after four decades.
Dutton had said he still planned to host a show this year, featuring musicians who had committed to a BMR appearance.
Kershaw is a longtime country music star with three platinum and six gold albums. Some of his chart-toppers include "Cadillac Style" and "She Don't Know She's Beautiful."
Martin is a 35-year-old artist who has worked in agriculture and bull riding. He is known for his storytelling musical style and hits such as "Poets & Old Souls" and "If It Was Easy."
The Dutton family settled on its ranch at 42620 Dutton Drive, Flushing in 1981. There, the Dutton Cattle Co. raises Akaushi wagyu beef, which will be a highlight of the event's menu.
According to the website, attendees will have the chance to feast, explore whiskey pairings and take guided tours of the farm.
"Insofar as we can tell, there ain't another true Farm To Table Country Concert on the map," the site notes.
They plan to smoke pasture-raised beef brisket with cuts including burnt ends, ribeyes, chuckeyes, Tomahawks and Denvers available. Burgers and hot dogs will be offered as well, along with other offerings. The concert is working with The Pike 40 restaurant, which is also owned by the Dutton family, to prepare a full menu.
