Storm damages areas of Monroe County

BEALLSVILLE — The American Red Cross is stationed in Beallsville on Wednesday after severe weather caused damage in parts of Monroe County.

Sheriff Charles Black posted on social media that assistance is available to anyone in need following the storm.

“Due to the severe damage done from the storm this morning the American Red Cross will be setting up at Beallsville FD. The Sheriffs Office just transported donated food and water (From Riesbecks, Little Ceasars, Dominoes, and Jerry Lees) to the Beallsville fire station for everyone. Beallsville Fire Station will also be a warming location for the dropping temps. There has been no loss of life due to the storm and that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, all Fire/EMS, Twp/County/State workers have checked on the residents in the affected area, and have reopened the roads,” Black wrote on Facebook.

Multiple residents reported damage to structures, including a church, and uprooted trees.
