BARNESVILLE — During April, which is National Donate Life Month, WVU Medicine Barnesville Hospital is joining hospitals around the state and nation in raising awareness of organ donation and how you can help.

“Just last year, 182 people in our Central and Southeastern Ohio service area shared the gift of life through organ donation,” April Lopez, donation program coordinator for Lifeline of Ohio, said during a Donate Life flag raising ceremony on April 3 at Barnesville Hospital. “Those gifts saved the lives of 445 people.”

As the flag was raised, a moment of silence was held to remember those who have donated to help save the lives of others.

In addition to the ceremony, an educational table and donor memorial quilt are on display in the main lobby of Barnesville Hospital.
