MARTINS FERRY — A water main break in Martins Ferry on Monday afternoon has affected nearly everyone to which the city delivers water, officials at the water treatment plant said Monday evening.

The break happened around 2 p.m. Monday, officials said, leaving most in the city — as well as other areas that use Martins Ferry water — out of water. Some customers may still have had it Monday night, but likely would experience an outage at some point.

Crews were out fixing the issue Monday, but there was no estimated time for water service to resume as of Monday evening.
