ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville Moose Lodge 2504 donated $8,153 to the Friends of Belmont County Juvenile Court.
“As part of our organization, we have a state of Ohio charitable bingo license, and part of that is that we donate 25% of our revenue to charity,” Moose Lodge 2504 Administrator Jennifer Totterdale said.
The two local charities that the lodge chose to donate its funds to are the Tri-County Help Center and the Friends of Belmont County Juvenile Court.
“These are two programs that we totally believe in,” Totterdale added.
One of the national charities it chose to donate to is a school called Moose Heart, which is in Mooseheart, Illinois. The school is for underprivileged children to keep them out of foster care.
“The friends of Juvenile Court are very appreciative of this contribution today from the Moose Lodge,” Judge Al Davies said.
He then mentioned that the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley and Gulfport Energy both made recent donations of approximately $5,000 each.
“This just goes to show that corporations, organizations and the people of Belmont County care about kids and are always willing to step up and help support programs and services for kids,” Davies said. “Regardless of a child’s economic background, social background, where they come from or where they live in Belmont County, that doesn’t matter. All kids deserve a chance and that’s what these organizations recognize.
“These funds will be put to really good use, and we will continue to accept all contributions and graciously thank our community partners,” he concluded.
