ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Area residents can see a 20-foot long bubble and a bubble volcano that erupts bubbles on Thursday as “Circus Pop! The Giant Bubble Show” makes its local debut.

This one-man show is presented by Logan Jimenez who will make 20-foot long bubbles, a bubble volcano that erupts into smaller bubbles, eat fire and put people in bubbles.

“Just to be able to come together and exist as a community, because we live in pretty polarized times, you know,” Jimenez said. “And so when you have people who may not look the same or believe the same thing sitting next to each other, experiencing the same emotions, I think that’s really powerful.”

The show will take place at the Capstone Event Center, 66056 Elm Station, St. Clairsville. The first show will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the second show at 6:30 p.m. Spectators should arrive 30 minutes early when the doors open if they would like to claim a front row seat. Both shows will run for an hour.

Jimenez noted the 6:30 p.m. show is sold out, but there are still tickets for sale for the 4:30 p.m. show. Those interested can buy tickets at giantbubbleshow.com. Ticket prices rise by $2 dollars apiece if purchased at the door. Children under 2 years old are able to attend the show for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult and must sit on someone’s lap.

After performing as a one-man show circus at a resort in Wisconsin, Jimenez said he looked for a fun act to break up some of the more stressful acts he performed, such as fire eating and sword swallowing.

“I started doing a couple bubble tricks, and then that became more popular than the stuff that was really dangerous,” he said. “And I thought to myself, ‘Why am I putting my body on the line when people really love the bubbles?'”

Next to Jimenez will be his 9-year-old nephew, who will run the popcorn machine.

Although living in Iowa, Jimenez said he wanted to bring the show to St. Clairsville because his family is originally from nearby Harrison County, and he has family members who live in New Athens, St. Clairsville, Cadiz and Adena.

Jimenez said he likes to greet people at the door because a lot of shows don’t have audience interaction with the performer, so he wants everyone to feel welcome at his show.

Jimenez is also excited for audience members to enjoy the show, forgetting about their problems for an hour and spending time with their families.

“I have a lot of family that are going to be there, a lot who’ve never seen the show,” he said. “But just to bring the show to St. Clairsville and introduce people to the bubble show and watch the families, you know, react.”
