Buckeye Local Junior and Senior high schools have been placed on a “soft lockdown” due to an indirect threat made to the schools. Buckeye Local High School made that announcement on its Facebook page Monday afternoon.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the threat, the school added. Because of that, all afterschool activities at both the junior and senior high school are canceled, including practices, games and meetings.
