UPDATE: Belmont County 911 service issue resolved

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County resolved a problem with its 911 phone lines Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 7 p.m., a dispatcher at the Belmont County 911 Center confirmed that an outage was taking place. She said calls to 911 were being redirected through Jefferson County and that emergency crews were still being dispatched as usual. Officials were working with technicians to correct the problem.

Another dispatcher later said the service was restored at about 8:30 p.m.
