ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Eat'n Park restaurant in St. Clairsville is reviving its annual tradition of Caring for Kids -- and taking its efforts a step further this year.

Manager Laura Grall said the eatery holds a basket raffle fundraiser every year as part of a company-wide campaign to benefit local children's hospitals. This year, though, the St. Clairsville location is adding a new fundraising element to its effort by offering a spaghetti dinner.

Caring for Kids is a nationwide campaign that is in its 46th year. Since 1979, restaurant staff and guests have collaborated to raise more than $12 million to benefit children. This year, proceeds of the St. Clairsville restaurant's fundraisers will go to WVU Medicine Children's Hospital.

Last year, the restaurant raised more than $2,000 for the hospital through its basket raffle alone. Guests can still participate in that effort with the baskets found in the restaurant's lobby.

This year, the St. Clairsville location is also holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the first time. That event is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the Kevin Barr Event Center, the former Ruritan building located near Red Devil Stadium and the J.B. Martin Recreation Center in St. Clairsville. Grall noted there is plenty of parking available around the event center.

Tickets for the dinner purchased in the restaurant prior to the event cost $10. Tickets at the door on Saturday will cost $12.

Across the company, the Caring for Kids fundraiser benefits more than a dozen children's hospitals.
