BARE STEEL girders are visible on the west side of Ohio 7 in Martins Ferry where the Ohio Department of Transportation is removing a portion of a pedestrian bridge that for decades allowed people to walk above the highway to reach the Dave Bruney Football Complex, shown in the background. According to Mayor John Davies, ODOT is performing a major overhaul of the bridge. According to ODOT, the work is expected to take about seven months to complete, and the bridge will remain closed during that time. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Ohio 7. The project cost is $3,050,000.
