Two receptions will take place for CFOV grants 2025 recipients
THE COMMUNITY Foundation for the Ohio Valley announced recipients of the 2025 Women’s Giving Circle grant and the Breaking Barriers for a Better Community grant, which total nearly $85,000 together.
Two special grant receptions will be held to recognize the recipient organizations that have made “outstanding efforts” and to “celebrate the positive impact they will have.”
The Women’s Giving Circle grants were awarded to 15 organizations across the Ohio Valley that serve women and girls, while the Breaking Barriers for a Better Community grants were awarded to two organizations that work to “remove barriers to employment in the greater Wheeling area.”
The WGC grant reception will take place at 10 a.m. Feb 25 at Stifel Fine Arts Center, 1330 National Road, Wheeling to award grants totaling $54,900.
The BBBC grant reception will take place at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 26 at CFOV, 1226 Chapline St. in Wheeling, to distribute grants totaling $30,000.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet grant recipients, learn more about their projects and speak with the CFOV leadership at both events, the CFOV said.
“We look forward to celebrating the multiple organizations making a difference in our community,” the foundation said.
People can reach out to CFOV with any questions they may have.
Organizations addressed the following needs of women in the community: increasing life skills of women and girls from preK-12 education, economic empowerment, physical and mental health, violence and crime, encouraging the healthy development and personal authority of young girls and raising awareness of gender disparities in our community, according to the CFOV website.
The following organizations were excluded from consideration for the grant: ones that promote a particular religious or political ideology, capital campaigns or endowments, dinner galas, advertising and other special fundraising events, contributions to the general fund of an organization, intermediary funding agencies and scholarships.
The BBBC grant supporters have a special interest in supporting collaborative projects that reduce or eliminate redundancy among nonprofits, according to the CFOV website.
“Breaking Barriers for a Better Community (BBBC), formerly known as FACTS Impact, is a component fund of the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley that was created by a group of community members addressing local challenges through philanthropy,” it adds.
