Beallsville High School to close with students relocated to Monroe Central or River
WOODSFIELD — The Switzerland of Ohio Board of Education voted Thursday to eliminate grades 9-12 from the school campus in Beallsville.
Students who would have attended high school in Beallsville during the 2025-26 school year will be relocated to either Monroe Central High School in Woodsfield or to River High School in Hannibal, depending on where they live.
Beallsville High had also included seventh and eighth grades, which are expected to be moved to Beallsville Elementary School.
The vote by the board was unanimous at 5-0 in favor of suspending high school classes at Beallsville. The board then entered a closed-door session. The agenda for the meeting had stated that no public participation would be permitted.
