Police Investigating Shots Fired In Martins Ferry

MARTINS FERRY – Martins Ferry police are looking for suspects after shots were allegedly fired on Broadway Street on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Martins Ferry Police Department, Martins Ferry officers along with Bridgeport Police and Belmont County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1100 block of Broadway Street on Thursday after residents said they heard several gunshots.

Upon arriving, the officers spoke with several residents in the area who said they allegedly saw a vehicle that appeared to be chasing a subject that was running away from the vehicle when the gunshots were heard. Witnesses said the vehicle was a dark colored sedan.

Witnesses said the person running allegedly was seen getting into a red Cadillac sedan and fleeing before officers arrived.

Officers found several spent shell casings on the scene and gathered other relative evidence.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the incident and anyone that may have information about the incident is asked to call the Martins Ferry Police Department at 740-633-2121.
