Martins Ferry celebrates Independence Day on July 5

MARTINS FERRY — The city of Martins Ferry invites residents and visitors to its annual Independence Day celebration — Stars, Stripes, and Summer Nights — on Saturday, July 5, at the City Park.

This day-long event promises a festive blend of live music, family activities and community spirit, culminating in a fireworks show sponsored by Unified Bank.

Festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with a high-energy set by DJ Daner, who will keep the momentum going until 12:30 p.m.

The celebration continues throughout the day with live performances at the City Park pavilion, featuring a lineup of local and regional favorites.

Live Music Lineup:

Seven South 1-3 p.m.

Shawn Villamagna 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Spar & Son 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The Crush Band 6-8 p.m.

DJ Daner 8 p.m. until the fireworks begin.

Families can also enjoy Screwy Louie’s bounce houses from 3-8 p.m., offering fun for children of all ages.

“In keeping with its longstanding support for the community, Unified Bank is proudly sponsoring a free swim at the city pool from noon to 9 p.m. on July 5,” a new release notes. “The free swim is open to all.”

Later that evening, Unified Bank will again take center stage as the sponsor of the fireworks display at dark, which will light up the skies over Martins Ferry in a patriotic grand finale.

Martins Ferry Clerk Leslie Freeman extended heartfelt thanks to Unified Bank and other community partners, including Mayor John Davies, Service/Safety Director Andrew Sutak, Martins Ferry American Legion, Belmont County Tourism, New Heart Covenant, BellStores, Martins Ferry Chamber of Commerce, Martins Ferry Project Forward, Martins Ferry Carryout, Emmanuel Tabernacle Church, Gary Stoffer, Zontini’s Pizza, Carolina Furniture, Softite Community Federal Credit Union, Convenient Food Mart, Martins Ferry City Council and Martins Ferry Masonic Lodge 486 for their unwavering support in making this celebration and other community events possible.

The public is encouraged to join the city of Martins Ferry in honoring America’s independence with a day of music, joy and togetherness at Stars, Stripes, and Summer Nights.
