Paisley Foundation partners with CFOV to bring relief to flood victims
WHEELING — WesBanco Inc. is partnering with the Paisley Foundation and the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley to create the Disaster Response and Recovery Fund at the CFOV, which will support nonprofits helping individuals and families affected by the recent devastating flooding in Ohio County.
Grammy-winning country artist and Glen Dale native Brad Paisley established the Paisley Foundation to support causes close to his heart–including helping communities in times of crisis. Severe flash flooding struck Valley Grove, Triadelphia and sections of Wheeling on June 14, triggering devastating damage across the region and leading to nine deaths. Homes, businesses, vehicles, and infrastructure were destroyed.
The new fund will support immediate and longer-term recovery efforts for those impacted by the flood as well as any future disaster that occurs in the region. Through this initiative, WesBanco, the Paisley Foundation, and other community partners aim to bring financial assistance, resources, and hope to people in the region as they rebuild and recover.
To jumpstart the campaign, the Paisley Foundation and WesBanco are each contributing $25,000 to the Disaster Response and Recovery Fund at the CFOV. All donations raised will go directly to response and recovery efforts in the eight-county region served by the CFOV for this and future disasters.
“The goal of the Paisley Foundation is to be there for our neighbors in their time of need,” said Doug Paisley, chairman of the Paisley Foundation Board. “We are happy to participate in the ongoing recovery efforts and encourage others to get involved as they did with Brad and the Foundation in our previous efforts following the Ohio River flooding and the West Virginia floods of a few years ago. We are glad to be working with WesBanco and the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley.”
“WesBanco is deeply committed to the communities we serve, including in times of crisis. Wheeling is not only our headquarters but also home to many of our employees, some of whom were impacted by the recent flooding. We’re proud to partner with the Paisley Foundation and family, as well as the CFOV, to get critical support to those who need it most,” said Dave Klick, WesBanco’s Upper Ohio Valley Market President. “We invite other local businesses, community partners, and individuals to join us in this effort — every contribution can make a difference in helping our community recover.”
