1 Killed, 1 Injured In Separate Accidents On Ohio 149

A few minutes later, a second truck lost its brakes driving down Patterson Hill Road and plummeted over an embankment, killing the driver.
Two separate vehicle accidents along Ohio 149 on Wednesday morning resulted in one driver being killed and another being injured.
Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Josh O’Donnell said the first vehicle, which appeared to be a vacuum truck, was coming off Patterson Hill Road and while attempting to turn onto Ohio 149 lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road. He was injured and transported to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.
About 5 to 10 minutes later, O’Donnell said, the second vehicle also was coming off of Patterson Hill Road and it appeared to have lost its brakes, plunging the truck hundreds of yards over an embankment. O’Donnell said the second truck was towing a trailer. The driver of that truck was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
Both vehicles belonged to the same company.
