AST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s St. Clairsville post is investigating a fatal incident that occurred on Township Road 352 near Flushing at approximately 2:13 a.m. Saturday.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox operated by 30-year-old Henry Pifer of Massillon, Ohio, was traveling north on Township Road 352.

As Pifer was traveling, his passenger, 31-year-old Robert Antonille of Brunswick, Ohio, fell from the vehicle onto the roadway.

Antonille was transported to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office and Barnesville Emergency Medical Service were the responding agencies.

The incident remains under investigation.
