Christmas with Cops plans to be the biggest one yet

BETHESDA — Police Chief Christopher Storm is launching his fourth-annual Christmas with Cops campaign.

The purpose of the program is to provide the children in need in Bethesda and Belmont with a Christmas shopping trip.

“No child will be left giftless in Bethesda, Belmont or Goshen Township,” Storm said. “If we raise enough, I would like to have Breakfast with Santa Claus, the Grinch and my Officers.”

He added that All children under the age of 18 from Bethesda and Belmont, as well as those children in Goshen Township, may sign up to receive assistance. He said that he will need the child’s name, gender, age, mailing address, email and phone number, and the parent’s or guardian’s names.

Storm will provide Christmas gifts, lunch, and snacks to all participating children from the community on Dec. 7 at the Mayor’s building referred to as the “city building.”

“Last year we bought pizza and desserts for lunch. Each child received one or two bags of gifts plus fruits,” Storm said. I want to continue giving children some fresh fruit and would like to include some canned food because so many are worried about hunger this year. If any local grocery stores can help with this, we would appreciate it greatly.”

He added that if any area businesses would be interested in donating pizza, hot dogs and buns, snacks, drinks, chips, candy, fruit, etc. to reach out to him at 740-296-8166.

Storm has high hopes of making things even bigger and better. He said that his goal for this year is $7,500 in donations to cover all of the expenses of the program. As of now he has raised roughly $1,500.

Donations of new, unopened toys can be left at the Bethesda Mayor’s Building and monetary donations can be left there or you can donate through the Christmas with Cops GoFundMe page.

The GoFundMe page can be found by searching Help Bethesda Police Spread Holiday Cheer on the GoFundMe website.

Storm added that checks need to be made out to the Bethesda Police Department and write CHRISTMAS WITH COPS 2025 in the memo line. Checks will need to be sent to 112 Main Street, P.O. Box 95.
