BRIDGEPORT — Ohio Valley residents Kelsey Cromar, Samantha Holcomb, and Taylor Baugh-McIntire are aiming to provide laughs and insight to listeners with their new podcast “Hot Tea, No Sugar.”

Created in September under the Rig Studio umbrella in Bridgeport, Cromar said that the podcast has already received more than 1 million views across all platforms.

“We’re doing this because we’re chaotic, opinionated, and hilarious and apparently people enjoy listening to that,” Holcomb said.

Cromar said that, a year ago, the trio went out to lunch as Realtors and had the idea to make a podcast that would be nothing about real estate. All three hosts are Realtors for RE/MAX Broadwater in their professional careers and wanted a creative outlet after work hours.

Once the three met with Rig Studio and spoke about the possibility of creating the podcast in its studio, Cromar said it was a no-brainer.

Holcomb believes the podcast works so well because the three hosts have three totally different personalities and different ways of seeing the world.

“That’s what makes this work. Together, we can show up real, raw, and honest, and connect with people from all walks of life,” Holcomb said. “We’re not here to be perfect, we’re here to be honest and honesty connects people.”

She added that the podcast has created a therapeutic escape from everyday life.

“We all know life can feel dark at times. But if our conversations can leave even a small light behind-something that makes someone smile, feel seen, or feel less alone then we’ve done our job. We’re here to uplift, have fun, and make someone’s day a little brighter,” she said.

The main goal of the podcast, Cromar said, is to bring awareness to situations, spread truth, and bring smiles to people’s faces.

Baugh-McIntire said that she wants the trio to play an active role within the community.

“We want to show up for the community just like they have for us for so long,” she said. “We like to bring awareness and bring hope to people.”

Baugh-McIntire added that, although the podcast provides laughs and smiles, it also covers serious topics such as speaking to domestic violence survivors. She said that her personal goal is to give listeners who may be struggling hope while being true to themselves.

“We dive into trending topics, not-so-trending topics, music, culture, business, and everyday life — always real, never watered down,” Cromar said. “We have a lot in store, Joe Exotic and other special guests, true crime mini-series, comedians, politicians, small business owners and large business owners. There’s not a topic we won’t cover.”
