The American Red Cross to hold Veterans Day blood drive

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The American Red Cross, as a way to honor those who have served their country in the United States military, will hold a Veterans Day blood drive on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Belmont Hills Country Club, 47080 National Rd. in St. Clairsville.

U.S. Army veteran William E. Littell Jr. is among those the Red Cross wants to recognize through Tuesday’s blood drive. A member of Belmont Hills Country Club the past four years, Littell joined the Army in 1999, retiring in 2020 as a Detachment First Sergeant. He was a combat veteran with three tours of Iraq, serving there for a total of 19 months in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

A Bellaire High graduate and current resident of St. Clairsville, Littell was last stationed at Pearl Harbor Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii.

Belmont Hills Country Club President Bryan Woodford hopes the public will take the opportunity to honor the Ohio Valley’s veterans by participating in the blood drive. Donors will receive a $10 e-card to the merchant of their choice.

Donors can make an appointment for Tuesday’s drive by searching redcrossblood.org, downloading the Red Cross Donor app, or calling 1-800-REDCROSS.
