ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The annual Homestead Sportsman’s Show — a two-day celebration of everything hunting, fishing and the great outdoors — is slated Jan. 24-25 at the Homestead Event Center, located at 52335 Buena Vista Drive in St. Clairsville.

Organizer Tim Starkey said the show will feature between 50 and 60 tables selling new and used guns, ammo, fishing gear, hunting gear, knives, archery equipment and more.

“If you’re looking for a weapon or any hunting equipment or ammunition this is a good place to start out,” Starkey said. “The vendors are cheaper than the stores.”

He said the show offers a friendly atmosphere.

“All the vendors are really knowledgeable. We’ve never had trouble. Everyone is polite and helps you out,” Starkey said. “All the vendors tell me they love coming to the show because there’s no issues. If someone causes issues, they go out the door.”

Starkey said there will also be some vendors selling self-defense items, such as pepper spray, along with those selling antique or vintage rifles. There are also vendors that sell clothing and hats.

“We will have concessions available and an ATM on site,” he added.

The show’s hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 24 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m Jan. 25. The admission cost is $5 per day. Children 12 years old and younger enter free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
