CADIZ – WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital is now offering the Hologic 3Dimensions Mammography System with Genius AI Detection.

Utilizing advanced breast 3D mammography technology, the system creates a three-dimensional image of the breast structure, which enables radiologists to more clearly see through overlapping tissue to detect potential abnormalities, allowing for earlier detection of breast cancers.

Harrison Community Hospital is also using the MammoPad Breast Cushion — a unique foam cushion providing a much more comfortable and tolerable exam, along with the SmartCurve compression paddle. The curved design of the compression device mirrors the shape of a woman’s breast to reduce pinching and applies uniform compression over the entire breast for added comfort.

“We are so grateful for the significant advancement in technology that allows our community to receive a higher level of accuracy in breast cancer screenings closer to home,” Karen Mihalic, director of imaging operations at the hospital, said. “Patients no longer need to travel to larger facilities to have the superior image quality that we now offer coupledwith a much more comfortable exam.”
