At 11:11 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on Gibas Road in Bellaire reported that two or three people were trying to break in. The caller had a history of mental health issues, according to the report. An officer responded and reported that there were no signs of anyone being there.

At 11:01 p.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with an occupied disabled vehicle on Interstate 70 west near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville. A wrecker was on the way to assist the Ohio motorist.

At 9:53 p.m. Wednesday, a caller asked to speak with a deputy about methadone being stolen from his vehicle. A sergeant advised the caller that the sheriff’s office did not take reports about stolen narcotics.

At 8:17 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a possible homeless male walking back and forth between the wooded area behind the RV park to the main road on Bond Drive in Morristown. The subject was carrying groceries and other items. Officers patrolled the area, but did not locate the male.

At 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that there were four people stealing. An officer responded to Golden Ticket Cinemas on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville and spoke to four individuals with Ohio identification, the report indicated.

At 7:23 p.m. Wednesday, a female from an address in Union Township came to the station to report an assault that allegedly occurred on a Union Local school bus that afternoon. She was unable to reach anyone at the school when the incident occurred, she said. A sergeant obtained information about the incident and about the parties involved.

At 6:53 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on Summit Street in Bethesda reported that his landlord was there. The landlord was supposed to be there at 5 p.m. for an inspection, but did not show until now, according to the complainant. An officer responded and took information for a report.

At 6:29 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address in Holloway reported that he and his 17-year-old daughter had an argument. She bit him and then ran off, he reported. Someone from the Holloway pizza shop called and reported that the juvenile was there and she wanted to be picked up. An officer gave her a ride to her home, according to the report.

At 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Flushing-Holloway Road in Flushing for a deer that needed to be put down.

At 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, a detective on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 220 in Richland Township issued a warning to a motorist for driving left of center.

At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on 42nd Street in Bellaire reported that her ex was at her house beating on the door. The caller requested a deputy. Officers responded.

At 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from an address on Winding Hill Road in Bellaire reported an unauthorized loan on his credit report. An officer took information and completed a theft report.

At 10:34 a.m. Wednesday, a detective found a dog running loose on Marion Street in Bridgeport. A phone number was called, and the officer made contact with the owner.

At 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, a complainant from an address on South Chestnut Street in Barnesville came to the station to report a scam. Information was taken for a report.

At 10:16 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Commercial Drive in Lansing, where a complainant provided information about an issue with a male from school. The complainant was advised to get a temporary protection order. The nature of the incident was listed as threats or harassment.

At 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, a complainant from an address on Hawthorn Hill Road in Shadyside came to the station to report a violation of a civil protection order. Information was taken for a report.

At 8:43 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was dispatched to Union Local Middle School on Belmont-Morristown Road to take a report about an alleged sex offense. The incident occurred in Harrison County, according to the report. Belmont County Child Protective Services was notified, as were officials at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

At 6:57 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from St. Clairsville reported that his 15-year old niece was followed by a suspicious individual during her walk this morning. The complainant called back and advised officials that they could disregard it because it was a family member and everything was OK.

At 4:31 a.m. Wednesday, central dispatch reported that a male was being chased by a suspicious person on East Main Street in Holloway. Deputies responded. The male cannot or will not provide information about the incident, officials reported, who said the may only wanted a ride to some place “safe.” The male was transported to Bell Stores in St. Clairsville and was advised against using law enforcement as a taxi service, according to the report.

At 11:38 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 470 near the Ohio 7 ramp in Bellaire issued a written warning to a Pennsylvania truck driver for an improper lane change.

At 11:03 p.m. Tuesday, a detective on a traffic stop on Main Street at South Lincoln Avenue in Bridgeport issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for improper display and for a traffic control device violation.

At 9:17 p.m. Tuesday, a caller requested a welfare check on a male at an address in Dilles Bottom in Shadyside. The caller said he had not seen or heard from the male in two days, and the male’s dogs kept barking. An officer contacted the male, who was fine.

At 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on National Road in Bridgeport near Riesbeck’s requested a K-9 from the Wheeling Police Department. The dog gave a positive indication on the vehicle. Drug residue was found in a container, which was to be disposed of, according to the report. The driver was issued a written warning for driving with expired tags.

At 3:16 p.m. Tuesday, detectives were out on a traffic stop with police units from Bridgeport and Richland Township at Sunoco on National Road in St. Clairsville. John Edward Barry was arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on a parole violation charge.

At 5:43 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to the area of Walmart in the Ohio Valley Plaza in St. Clairsville for a call about a possible domestic in a vehicle. Contact was made with the driver and an occupant of the vehicle by Staples. They were singing, according to the report, which noted that there was “nothing to this call at all.”

At 4:24 p.m. Tuesday, officers assisted units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop on Interstate 70 east near mile marker 218 in Richland Township at the old scale house.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a detective checked for dirt bikes on the road in the Lansing area. Nothing was found.

At 4:17 p.m. Tuesday, officers were out with a complainant at an address on Lake Road in Belmont for a report of an argument with a landlord over a dog. The nature of the complaint was listed as neighbor trouble.

At 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out at Laslo Apartments on South Third Street in Martins Ferry for an eviction.

At 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that children at an address on Colerain were living in poor conditions and someone should check on them. The caller already advised Child Protective Services and requested a welfare check by a deputy. According to a responding officer, the children were home sick from school, but the home was clean, food and drinks were available and the kids had their own beds. No poor living conditions were found, according to the officer.

At 12:18 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were assisting with a report of a cardiac arrest at an address on Captor Road in Rayland. A DOA was confirmed at 12:20 p.m. Nothing appeared to be suspicious, and the coroner was notified.

At 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on Summit Avenue in Bethesda for a report of a landlord breaking into a complainant’s house. The landlord was advised to give a 24 hours notice.

At 11:53 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out McDonald’s on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville for a report of counterfeit money taken for a purchase but given back to a suspect by an employee. Information was taken for a report.

At 12:09 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire.

At 11:14 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a call from an address on East Captina Highway in Powhatan Point. A 911 hangup call was received, and upon callback, the officer spoke with an elderly female who said she did not want emergency medical service, did not want to speak with a deputy and said she was OK. Her son stated that she was fine, according to the report.

At 11:09 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an address on Main Street in Blainsville near Maynard for a report of a neighbor taking their packages and opening them. Information was taken.

At 10:52 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Howard Street at Lee Street in Bridgeport was given consent to search but found nothing, according to the report. A warning was issued to the West Virginia motorist for a stop bar violation.

At 9:12 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out at the Pine Lake Trailer Court on National Road in Belmont attempting an eviction. The locks were changed, the report stated.

At 1:29 a.m. Tuesday, an officer on a special detail reported that a vehicle outside of Pet Supplies Plus on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville was there running for a while. Units checked the vehicle. The male was an Ohio motorist who was OK. He was taking a nap, according to the report.

At 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Rolling Hills Rehabilitation and Care Center on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport reported that a male patient was assaulting staff. Units responded. The male was going with a squad, the report noted.

At 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 northbound in Martins Ferry issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags.
