At 11:56 p.m. Monday, units on a traffic stop on Addie Way in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for driving with no tail lights.
At 8:04 p.m. Monday, a caller from St. Clairsville reported that a female and a male tried to harm her with a brick. She denied emergency medical service. An officer responded and obtained statements. Individuals were advised not to go back to the residence. They were to make arrangements to get their belongings.
At 7:45 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 205 in Richland Township for a report of a tractor trailer in the median. The driver was not injured, and the semi was out of the roadway. A tow truck was on its way, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol was advised.
At 6:44 p.m. Monday, officers responded to Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 221 for a report of a possible rollover accident with property damage only. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified and arrived on the scene.
At 6:26 p.m. Monday, a caller reported that his friend stole his keys and phone. An officer attempted to contact the male accused of taking these items at an address on Hall Street in St. Clairsville. One female was taken to jail. Jossett Leigh McMillan was booked into the Belmont County Jail on a charge of failure to appear.
At 5:51 p.m. Monday, a deputy assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with the shut down of Interstate 470 east at the split in Richland Township.
At 4:33 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to an address on DeGarmo Rice Drive in Martins Ferry to perform a welfare check on a caller’s sister. Units did not locate her at this address or at an address on Noble Street.
At 4:26 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to an address on Cindy Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of neighbor trouble over a parking issue. According to the report, the complainant will have to contact the property manager or seek legal counsel.
At 2:04 p.m. Monday, an officer assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol at an address on Colerain Pike for an accident with property damage only. There was a small fire on the road from the accident site, according to the report. The OSHP and fire department were in charge of the scene.
At 10:29 a.m. Monday, a caller from an address on Lockwood Run Road in Shadyside reported via the sheriff’s office online submission portal that she suspected her neighbor of hitting golf balls into her horse pasture. The caller was worried that it would hurt her horses. A deputy contacted the complainant and reported that only one ball had been found. The caller attempted to contact her neighbor about the issue and was to call the sheriff’s office if the issue persists, according to the report.
At 10:21 a.m. Monday, a caller from an address on Beech Springs Road in Martins Ferry reported that a male was making threats to come to the address and assault her husband. The caller stated that the male was bipolar and his whereabouts were unknown. A deputy responded and reported that no direct threats were made. The complainant was advised about how to get a protection order.
At 10:03 a.m. Monday, a deputy was out at an address on Pearl Street in Martins Ferry for a civil process involving an eviction. Locks were changed, and the premises were vacated.
At 9:31 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that a male at WesBanco on Valley Centre Boulevard in St. Clairsville was causing issues. The male, who had been verbally arguing with staff, left without giving any more information.
At 8 a.m. Monday, a 911 call with an open line was received from an address on Main Street in Barnesville. Central dispatch made contact with a female, who said she was not calling anyone. They have had issues with the phone because of the weather, according to the report. An officer responded and reported that all was well.
At 12:06 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a domestic complaint at an address on Center Avenue in Holloway. An individual there was reportedly causing a disturbance. Officers on the scene took information for a report.
