At 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from Belmont reported that she had a temporary protection order against a male who was texting her 15-year-old daughter, who is also a protected party. An officer responded and took information for a report.
At 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a female was observed trying all of the doors, possibly trying to get inside, at Bellaire High School on 35th Street in Bellaire. An officer responded and reported that it was the janitor checking the doors.
At 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, several officers and units from the Bellaire, Bridgeport and Shadyside police departments responded to McDonald’s on 28th Street in Bellaire for a report of a stabbing. Aryan Summer Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on charges of felonious assault and possession of a controlled substance.
At 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on North Fifth Street in Martins Ferry issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for driving with no headlights.
At 8:21 p.m. Wednesday, a caller expressed concerns about her boyfriend, who had a history of drug abuse and mental health issues. The male had been dropped off in Barton and was on his way to Jewett. He had no cell phone, according to the report. A be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued for the male.
At 8:07 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious vehicle going up a driveway and back very quickly on Nixon Run Road in Martins Ferry. This was seen on a camera that was installed, according to the report, which stated that the camera wasn’t showing anything now, and all was secure.
At 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on North Sixth Street in Martins Ferry issued a verbal warning to a West Virginia motorist for loud exhaust and no headlights.
At 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, a unit on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 northbound near the 26th Street exit in Bellaire issued a written warning to a West Virginia motorist for following too closely.
At 4:41 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant responded to an address on National Road in Bridgeport for a report of small children running out into traffic. According to the officer, they were chasing a ball, and all was well.
At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to an address on Johnson North Road in Bethesda for a report of a male outside screaming and throwing rocks at a car parked in the driveway. There was damage to the driver’s side window and the passenger side door, according to the report.
At 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the area of the Dairy Queen on National Road in Brookside for a report of a suspicious person. According to the report, the male was just sleeping, and all was OK.
At 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol requested that a unit check for cows in the roadway on West Capitina Road in Barnesville. A deputy responded but did not locate any cows in the roadway.
At 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, a truancy officer reported that she found a nicotine vape device on a student from the Belmont Career Center online school, according to the report. Officials were to dispose of the device, and disciplinary action was to be taken against the student, the report stated. The school resource officer took the device and marked it for disposal.
At 9:46 a.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to Powhatan Elementary School on Mt. Victory Road in Powhatan Point for a report of a juvenile complaint regarding a truancy incident.
At 9:42 a.m. Wednesday, the principal at the Belmont Career Center reported that a student there was found to be in possession of a nicotine vape device. This was the student’s second offense. The student was given a disciplinary plan including five days in the CCAP program. The school resource officer took the device and marked it for disposal.
At 9:17 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Colerain Road in Bridgeport after a caller reported that a tanker backed into The Crumby Apron building. A record of the incident was placed on file, and parties were getting insurance information for a claim, the report indicated.
At 12:34 a.m. Wednesday, units on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a Pennsylvania motorist for speeding.
At 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that a male wearing reflective clothing near Riesbeck’s on National Road in Bridgeport was jumping in and out of traffic trying to get in the bed of trucks. According to responding officers, the male was having hallucinations and was taken by emergency medical service personnel to WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
At 9:18 p.m. Tuesday, officers on a traffic stop on Main Street in Bridgeport reported a vehicle had a stolen plate reported through the Wheeling Police Department. Two males were detained. A detective met with a Wheeling Police Officer on Wheeling Island to turn over the stolen plate. Two males were booked into the Belmont County Jail. Chad Ernest Comas was booked on charges of possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instruments. Michael Anthony Deaner was booked on counts of receiving stolen property and drug paraphernalia.
At 8:43 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from the Pine Lake Trailer Court on National Road in Morristown reported she was having problems with her mother again. Neither party wanted to leave the residence for the night. Both were advised that if deputies had to return, someone was going to be going to jail, according to the report.
At 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from the Pine Lake Trailer Court on National Road in Morristown reported that her mother was coming to her house and that she was afraid of what her mother would do when she got there. Both parties were advised about the eviction process and the process required to obtain a temporary protection order.
At 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a report of a breaking and entering at a house on Adolph Street in Bridgeport. There were missing items, including a safe, the report stated. Information was taken by a responding officer.
At 12:48 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on Beech Spring Road in Martins Ferry for a report of a male threatening to kill a caller’s family. The officer did not locate the male. The caller was advised to contact the court to have the family establish a civil protection order. The caller stated that the threats were indirect and that he heard them from a third party.
At 12:07 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Poplar Street in Bannock reported that his wife was making false statements about him and wanted to know if he could get a protection order based on these statements. An officer advised him about civil protection orders and counseled him to contact an attorney regarding the false statements if he wished for counsel on civil matters.
At 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on West Street in Holloway reported that his ex-wife was making false allegations against him, claiming he was a pedophile. She stated that she went through his phone and found where he was talking to a 17-year-old on social media and that he told her he would get her flowers. He stated that there was nothing inappropriate, but that she was trying to tell people it was. He had questions about defamation. An officer referred him to a civil attorney for counsel.
At 11:44 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Jo-Al Drive in Blaine reported that her husband’s truck was entered overnight. A deputy responded to take information on a breaking and entering report.
At 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a location on National Road in Blaine for a report of a truck that was left unlocked and entered overnight. Nothing was taken, according to the report, which was listed as a breaking and entering.
At 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a location on Blaine-Chermont Road in Bridgeport for a report of a male who entered into a complainant’s unlocked car. Nothing was taken, the report about the breaking and entering stated.
At 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Flat Rock Road in Somerset Township reported that her husband’s truck was struck while parked in their driveway sometime Sunday. An officer responded and took information for a hit-skip accident report with property damage only.
At 6:16 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an address on Gibas Road in Bellaire to investigate a complaint after a 911 call was received. One male was taken into custody, according to the report.
