Belmont County Planning Commission to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Belmont County Planning Commission’s next meeting will be held on Monday, April 27 at noon at the Annex III building located at 101 North Market Street, St. Clairsville.
Kroger to Host Community Safety Day in St. Clairsville
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Kroger will host a Community Safety Day from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at its store located at 50789 Valley Plaza Drive.
The event will give residents an opportunity to meet and interact with local organizations that serve and protect the community. Participating groups include the Belmont County Health Department, Belmont County Sheriff’s Department, Cumberland Trail Fire/EMS and ICR Equipment Rental.
Belco to host free ‘Shred to Save’ event April 25
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belco will host a free “Shred to Save” community event from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, at its Document Destruction Facility, 66911 Pogue Road.
The event will provide secure shredding services for up to 75 pounds of documents per household.
“We’re excited to open our doors to the community and provide a valuable service while raising awareness about secure document destruction,” said Kim Cain, CEO of Belco.
The event is free and open to residents within a 20-mile radius of St. Clairsville. No appointment is necessary. Participants are asked to remove binders, clips and non-paper items before arrival.
Brilliant church to host Election Day lunch May 5
BRILLIANT — Brilliant United Methodist Church will hold its Election Day lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2025.
The menu includes soups by the bowl, pint or quart, including chicken noodle, vegetable beef, broccoli cheese and bean. Sides include pasta salad. Sandwiches will include meatball hoagies, turkey, sloppy joes and hot dogs. Assorted desserts and drinks will also be available.

Yorkville produce distribution dates set for 2026
YORKVILLE — The Yorkville Produce Distribution has released its 2026 schedule, with monthly distributions planned on Saturdays from April through October.
New directors Robbie Criss and Ronica Criss, along with their four daughters, announced the schedule and apologized for the late notice, noting it is their first time serving in the role. They said they are working under the guidance of Pastor David Forsythe of Gateway Apostolic Church.
Distribution dates are April, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12 and October 10, all from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
United Steelworkers meeting planned
MARTINS FERRY – The United Steelworkers S.O.A.R. Chapter 23-9 will have their monthly meeting Wednesday, June 4, at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Martins Ferry at 10 a.m.
Insurance representatives will be available to answer any questions. A guest speaker from the Belmont County Young Democrats will give a presentation. All retirees and their significant others are welcome to attend. Following the meeting, light refreshments will be available.
Flushing Twp. meetings
FLUSHING — Flushing Township Trustees will hold all 2026 regular meetings the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Flushing Township Garage. If a meeting date needs to be rescheduled, the public will be informed.
Bridgeport BOE sets 2026 calendar
BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Exempted Village School District’s Calendar Year 2026 Board of Education meetings on the following dates: Wednesday, and May 13 at 6 p.m at the District Administration Office and June 30, July 22, Aug. 12, Aug. 26, Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16 at 4:30 p.m in the Bridgeport High School Media Center.
