Sunday, April 18

At 8:08 p.m. Sunday, a 911 call with an open line was received from an address on Center Street in St. Clairsville. According to the dispatcher, it sounded like someone walking during the call. There was no answer on callback, and the dispatcher was unable to leave a voice message. According to a responding officer, the call was accidental.

At 6:31 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address in Bridgeport reported a 17-year-old male at his residence was being unruly. A sergeant spoke with the juvenile, and everything was OK at this time, according to the report.

At 6:28 p.m. Sunday, two juveniles at Hampton Inn on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville reported that they needed to get home in St. Clairsville. An officer dropped the juveniles off to the father, the report indicated.

At 6:14 p.m. Sunday, a deputy responded to Denny’s on Red Roof Lane in St. Clairsville for a vehicle crash with property damage only on private property. Information was taken for a crash report.

At 5:26 p.m. Sunday, an officer assisted emergency medical service personnel on a call at an address on Rehm Road in St. Clairsville.

At 4:56 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Beech Spring Road in Martins Ferry reported that a male was there arguing with her. An officer responded but did not come in contact with anyone, according to the report.

At 4:31 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported that a suspicious male was parked in a vehicle with Utah plates in front of her house on Main Street in Hendrysburg. The male exited the vehicle and walked up the road, then returned and told the caller he was looking for a place to use the restroom. The male got into his car and left. An officer responded and patrolled the area, but did not locate the male or the vehicle, the report indicated.

At 4:18 p.m. Sunday, a caller at an address on National Road in Bridgeport reported a possible stolen camper. Officers responded. The nature of the incident report was listed as a stolen car recovered.

At 1:19 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a hit-skip accident at Cracker Barrel on Mall Road in St. Clairsville. The caller stated that his vehicle was hit, and the other party left. A deputy responded and reviewed surveillance footage from a camera there and observed a silver SUV parked next to the complainant’s vehicle get hit with a car door. The driver then immediately left, according to the report. Units gathered information for a report.

At 1:03 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Holley Street in Martins Ferry reported that a male was trespassing on his property, and she had a video of it. The male left. An officer patrolled the area and located the male on a porch at an address on Ohio Street. He was advised that he was trespassed from the Holley Street address and was told not to go onto the property without permission. The officer went back to the complainant’s residence and inform him that the male had been advised not to come onto the property.

At 12:39 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the area of Valley Pool & Spa on Valley Frontage Road in St. Clairsville for a report of a two-vehicle accident with property damage only. Both vehicles were pulled off on the side of Mall Road. One driver was ruled to be at fault, and information was taken for a crash report.

At 10:33 a.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Elder Avenue in St. Clairsville reported that his daughter lost her phone at the Ohio Valley Mall on the previous day. GPS showed it to be in the area of the kiosk to trade in phones. A deputy responded and checked the machine, but the phone was not inside, according to the report.

At 8 a.m. Sunday, a sergeant at the Belmont County Jail reported that an inmate was causing damage to the plumbing. A deputy took information for a vandalism report.

At 2:13 a.m. Sunday, a deputy responded to an address on Pigeon Point Road in Barnesville after a 911 hangup call was received from the residence. According to the officer, this was a false alarm, and all was well.

Martins Ferry Police Department

Saturday, April 18

12:05 am. Martins Ferry PD assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop on the 400 Block of Aetna St.

01:22 am. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near S Lincoln Ave. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for expired registration.

02:45 am. Officers were out on N 4th St near Short St for a building check. Officers found a damaged door. Officers searched the building, however they had negative contact with anyone.

06:13 am. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near County Rd 4. The driver was identified as a female. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.

07:25 am. Officers responded to the 500 Block of N 9th St for a parking complaint. Officers made contact with the vehicle owners and the vehicles were moved.

09:16 am. Officers were out on N 4th St near Short St for a report of two individuals inside an abandoned building. Officers searched the building, however they had negative contact.

09:48 am. A male came on station to speak with an officer regarding a previous incident.

11:54 am. Officers were out on the 100 Block of S 5th St for a parking complaint. Officers made contact with the vehicle owner, and the vehicle was moved.

01:51 pm. Officers were out on the 500 Block of Spence Ln to speak with a female regarding a previous incident, however they had negative contact.

02:07 pm. Officers were out on the 800 Block of W Vine St for a report of solicitors trying to get personal information. Officers spoke with the individuals and determined they did not have a valid permit through the city and were advised to get one during normal business hours. Officers cleared.

03:10 pm. Martins Ferry PD, Fire, and EMS were out on State Route 7 near N 5th St for a report of a motorcycle accident with unknown injury. Bridgeport EMS assisted with transporting the driver to the hospital. Naylor’s Towing was contacted to tow the vehicle. All the information was taken for a report.

03:52 pm. Officers were out on the 400 Block of N 8th St to speak with a male regarding dogs running at large. Officers checked the surrounding areas, however they had negative contact.

05:56 pm. Officers responded to the 300 Block of Hanover St for a report of a physical altercation between a group of individuals. All the individuals left prior to police arrival. Officers checked surrounding areas, however they had negative contact.

07:39 pm. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a traffic stop on Marion St near Interstate 70.

10:34 pm. Officers were out on the 800 Block of Elm St for a report of a verbal dispute. Martins Ferry EMS was requested to evaluate a male bitten by a dog, however the male refused medical attention. Officers determined everything was fine and cleared.

11:27 pm. Officers were out on the 300 Block of S 3rd St for a report of a verbal domestic dispute between a female and an intoxicated male. Both individuals were separated for the rest of the night. Officers cleared.
