Belmont County Sheriff’s Office

At 10:47 p.m. Monday, a caller from the West Texas Roadhouse on National Road in St. Clairsville reported that a truck with Pennsylvania plates had been running for approximately two hours in the front lot. Officers responded and reported that the driver had been taking a nap between jobs at well pads.

At 10:41 p.m. Monday, units on a traffic stop on 32nd Street in Bellaire issued a verbal warning to an Ohio motorist for a stop sign violation.

At 10:21 p.m. Monday, officers on a traffic stop on 41st Street in Bellaire were granted consent to search a West Virginia vehicle, but found nothing. A warning was issued for a stop sign violation.

At 6:04 p.m. Monday, an officer on a traffic stop on Summit Avenue in St. Clairsville issued a verbal warning to an Ohio motorist for speeding and for a turn signal violation. Nothing was found after the officer was granted consent to search the vehicle, according to the report.

At 12:56 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to an address on Prospect Street in Bridgeport for a call about a vehicle blocking in a complainant.

At 12:39 p.m. Monday, a complainant from an address on Teberi Drive in Armstrong Mills came to the station to report fraud via a phone call. The complainant verified their Social Security number and bank account information on the call. The bank and credit bureau were already notified. The Social Security office required a call record to restrict his information, according to the report.

At 9:03 a.m. Monday, a 911 hangup call with rustling sounds on the line was received from the Hawthorne Suites on National Road in St. Clairsville. Deputies responded and reported that everything was fine.

At 8:40 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that sometime over the weekend, someone vandalized playground equipment at Patterson Road Park at Patterson Road and Chestnut Street in Bridgeport. An officer took information for a vandalism report.

At 7:35 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that her 16-year-old daughter refused to go to school. A deputy responded. The mother was to be following the juvenile to school, the report stated.

At 1:24 a.m. Monday, a caller from Joella Drive in St. Clairsville reported that her son-in-law came home from work and was causing issues at home. Units responded to the report of domestic trouble.

Martins Ferry Police Department

Tuesday

12:10 am. A traffic stop was initiated on S Zane Hwy near Grant Ave. The driver and passenger were identified as males. Officers received consent to search the vehicle, however there were negative findings. A verbal warning was issued to the driver for a stop sign violation.

12:13 am. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a traffic stop on State Route 7 near Kilgore Rd.

01:01 am. A traffic stop was initiated on N Zane Hwy near Seabright’s Ln. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for a turn signal violation.

01:14 am. A male came on station to speak with an officer regarding a previous incident.

03:35 am. Officers were out on N 4th St near Hanover St for a report of an open door to a vehicle. Officers attempted to contact the vehicle owner, however they had negative contact. Officers secured the vehicle and nothing appeared to be tampered with.

09:04 am. Officers were out on the 800 Block of Seabright’s Ln regarding a parking complaint. The vehicle was chalked. Officers cleared.

10:23 am. Officers responded to S Zane Hwy near Jefferson St for a report of a reckless driver. A traffic stop was initiated on the 700 Block of Vineway. The driver was identified as a female. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.

10:42 am. Officers were out on the 200 Block of N 7th St for a report of a suspicious male. Officers spoke with the male and advised him to go on his way. Officers cleared.

12:28 pm. Officers were out on the 700 Block of W Vine St regarding an unruly juvenile. Officers gave the juvenile advice. Officers cleared.

01:43 pm. Officers were out on Ellett St near N Zane Hwy to check on a chalked vehicle. Naylor’s Towing was contacted. Officers cleared.

01:49 pm. Officers were out on State Route 7 near Picoma Rd for a report of a male walking on the highway. Officers had negative contact.

02:24 pm. Officers were out on the State Route 7 near County Rd 4 for a welfare check on a male walking on the highway. Officers determined everything was fine. Officers cleared.

03:23 pm. Officers were out on the 500 Block of N 8th St to speak with a male regarding a civil issue. Officers cleared.

04:55 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on the 1000 Block of S Zane Hwy. The driver was identified as a male. Bill’s Towing was contacted. A written citation was issued for expired registration. Officers gave the male a courtesy ride to Delia Ave.

05:46 pm. A male came on station to speak with an officer regarding a previous incident.

08:00 pm. Officers were out on the 400 Block of Center St for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Officers spoke with multiple individuals however they had negative contact with the male.

09:24 pm. Officers were out on the 800 Block of Indiana St for a report of a suspicious male. Officers checked the surrounding areas, however they had negative contact.

09:26 pm. Officers were out on State Route 7 near Hanover St for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers removed the debris. Officers cleared.

10:50 pm. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a traffic stop on State Route 7 near S Lincoln Ave.

11:26 pm. Officers responded to the 400 Block of Center St for a report of a male causing a disturbance. Officers had negative contact. Officers cleared.
