01:32 am. Officers were out with a male walking on State Route 7 near Hanover St. Officers gave the male a custody ride to Wheeling. Officers cleared.
04:56 am. Martins Ferry PD assisted Martins Ferry EMS with a medical on the 100 N 5th St.
08:40 am. A male came on station to retrieve his property. All units cleared.
09:25 am. Officers were out on the 1800 Block of N 9th St to attempt contact with a female regarding a previous incident. Officers had negative contact.
10:05 am. Officers were out on the 1800 Block of N 9th St regarding a neighbor issue. Officers spoke with a male and gave advice. Officers gave the male a courtesy ride into town.
10:08 am. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a motor vehicle accident on State Route 7 near Aetna St.
10:51 am. Officers were out on Concord St near Grant Ave for a dog running at large. Officers had negative contact.
11:27 am. A traffic stop was initiated on N Lincoln Ave near Aetna St. The driver was identified as a female. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.
11:44 am. A male and female came on station to speak with an officer regarding being harassed. Both individuals were given advice. All units cleared.
11:59 am. A male and female came on station to speak with an officer regarding a civil custody dispute. Both individuals given advice.
12:26 pm. An officer spoke with a female via telephone regarding a previous incident.
04:08 pm. An officer was flagged down on the 500 Block of Washington St regarding a parking complaint. The officer chalked the vehicle.
04:46 pm. A female came on station to speak with an officer regarding a possible theft of a vehicle. Officers spoke with all the individuals involved, and the vehicle was returned to the registered owner. Officers determined the incident was civil after further investigation.
05:56 pm. Officers were out on the 700 Block of Walnut St regarding a previous incident.
06:48 pm. Officers were out on Grant Ave near S Zane Hwy regarding a runaway juvenile. Martins Ferry EMS was requested to evaluate the male; however medical attention was denied. The male was released. All units cleared.
07:14 pm. Officers were out on the 500 Block of Crawford St for a panic alarm activation. Officers determined that the alarm was accidentally triggered.
09:22 pm. Officers responded to the 800 Block of Seabright’s Ln for a noise disturbance. Officers identified two males and one female. Officers determined a verbal disagreement that took place; however, everything is fine. Officers cleared.
10:22 pm. Officers were out with a male on S Zane Hwy acting suspicious. Officers advised the male to go on his way.
10:23 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Aetna St. The driver was identified as a male and the passenger as a female. Officers were denied consent to search the vehicle, however the K9 was deployed for an open-air sniff. There was a positive indication on the vehicle, however there were negative findings. A verbal warning was issued for a speed violation.
10:50 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Aetna St. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for no taillights.
BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
At 7:14 p.m. Thursday, a caller from Bellaire reported that her brother-in-law was violating a court agreement to stay away by being at a neighbor’s residence with whom he is friends. An officer reported that the caller did not have an official protection order in place because of pending criminal charges.
At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a sergeant at the Belmont County Jail reported a use of force incident involving an inmate. An officer from the sheriff’s office responded.
At 4 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on Indian Run Road in Bellaire for a report from a complainant regarding issues with a realtor blocking the driveway.
At 12:55 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of domestic trouble at an address on Hoover Avenue in Bridgeport. This was a domestic argument with nothing physical involved, the report indicated. The male who was involved was to stay somewhere else for the night.
At 12:24 p.m. Thursday, deputies were out at an address on Pinch Run Road in Bellaire with an unresponsive female with marks on her face. The female was on blood thinners and was going with an emergency medical service squad, according to the report.
At 11:38 a.m. Thursday, a sergeant responded to an address on Indian Run Road in Bellaire for an animal call about dangerous wildlife, according to the report. The officer requested an EMS squad for a mental health evaluation, the report indicated.
At 10:15 a.m. Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident with property damage only on Commons Mall Crossing in St. Clairsville The vehicles were off the roadway, and the motorists had help coming, the officer stated.
At 9:58 a.m. Thursday, an officer responded to an address on Center Street in Barton for a well check on a suspicious male reported by a caller. The sergeant located the male and reported that he was OK. He was just walking around.
At 9:02 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on North Pancoast Road in Belmont after a 911 hangup call was received. The officer did not locate anyone, but everything appeared to be secure, according to the report.
At 8:09 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on Jordan Run Road in Bellaire after a 911 call was received with an open line and no answer on callback. According to the officer, everything was OK there. It was possibly toddlers playing with the phone.
At 6:37 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a hit-skip motor vehicle accident near the Super 8 Motel on National Road in St. Clairsville. A deputy responded.
