Belont County Sheriff’s Office
— 11:39 p.m. Tuesday, the Kent Police Department requested a welfare check on a male who was potentially in a mental health crisis. Officials went to an address on National Road in Belmont where his phone was pinging. The area was checked, but officers did not locate the male.
— 11:04 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy accompanied a female inmate from the Belmont County Jail to Trinity Medical Center in St. Clairsville. The inmate was returned to jail at 12:41 a.m.
— 10:48 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant picked up two individuals who were walking on Interstate 70. He took them back to their vehicle in an attempt to jump start it. The jump attempt was unsuccessful, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene to take the disabled vehicle.
— 10:04 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on East Main Street in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for improper lighting.
— 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 224 in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with no tail lights.
— 10:01 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Ferry Landing Road in Mead Township reported that he believes a neighbor has been shooting at his house and vehicles with a pellet gun. This has been an ongoing issue since May of 2025, according to the report.
— 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, a female at the Microtel on National Road in St. Clairsville called 911 and reported that her boyfriend brought her from out of state and was leaving her in a car in an unknown area. An officer responded. The female said she was fine and was OK staying with the male. She was just frustrated that they are not returning home, according to the report, which listed their vehicle’s registration as being from Georgia. A sergeant advised her that this was not an appropriate use of the 911 system.
— 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, the Martins Ferry Police Department requested a deputy to assist them on Ohio 7 in Martins Ferry. A female deputy responded. Drugs were reportedly recovered from a female’s bra and given to the police units, the report indicated.
— 8:44 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Crescent Road in St. Clairsville reported that a BB had been shot into her windshield. She was unaware of when or where it happened. She said she was out running errands and noticed it when she got home.
— 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville near the former Sears location issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with no headlights and for improper display.
— 7:38 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person on Muller Road in Morristown walking around a vehicle with Michigan plates. An officer patrolled the area but did not come in contact with the male.
— 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to Cherry Lane in Shadyside to check for juveniles driving a UTV. The deputy spoke to the parents and informed them that they cannot ride on the road.
— 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Sheryl Avenue in Bellaire reported hearing a male and female arguing outside. An officer responded, but nothing was found.
— 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a location in Lafferty for a report of juveniles riding dirt bikes on the road. An officer was out with a rider. The deputy spoke with the juvenile and father, and both were informed to stay off the road or be charged.
— 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Colerain Pike reported a male and female arguing while walking and carrying a crossbow. An officer responded but did not locate the subjects.
— 5:49 p.m. Tuesday, officers on a traffic stop on U.S. 40 in St. Clairsville near Joe’s Tires reportedly were granted consent to search the vehicle. A warning was issued for loud exhaust, expired plates and driving under suspension.
— 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that a dog was left in a parked car for hours outside of Coaches Burger Bar at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville. Officers responded.
— 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville where a female had fallen. She refused an emergency medical service squad.
— 1 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to Arby’s on Valley Centre Boulevard in St. Clairsville for a report of a vehicle that ran into the building. Information was taken for a crash report.
— 11:46 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a location on Blaine-Chermont Road in Bridgeport for a report of loud music.
— 11:43 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on Pipe Creek Road in Jacobsburg to complete an eviction. Two dogs were left at the residence. No agencies were available to assist. The dogs were being taken by the neighbors, and locks were being changed, according to the report.
— 8:01 a.m. Tuesday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol requested assistance at a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 470 near Bellaire. A caller from a truck involved reported numbness to his hands. He was struck from behind, according to the report. A deputy responded to assist.
— 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that she was watching her surveillance cameras and observed three people attempting to break into her back door at her address on Trumbull Street in Bellaire. The alarm went off, and they ran, according to the complainant. She could identify one subject by name and the others by description. Bellaire Police also responded. A deputy stopped individuals on 43rd and Franklin streets. Two males and one female were detained. All three matched the description. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene to take their vehicle. Terry Wayne Crawford, Thomas James Smith and Carly Ann Weber were all arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on one count each of burglary.
— 5:39 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that motion detectors went off in the house two or three hours previously at an address on Webb Heights Road in Shadyside. Deputies responded. Officers said this involved mental health issues on the part of the male caller, who refused emergency medical service. He was to have an uncle take him to the hospital.
— 12:31 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of domestic trouble at an address on Patterson Hill Road in Bellaire. A caller stated that a male and female were fighting and arguing so loudly, it woke the caller. Officers spoke with tenants in nearby apartments. No one was fighting, according to the report.

— 9:13 a.m., officers were out with a disabled vehicle on State Route 7 near Picoma Road. Officers determined everything was fine and the vehicle was on its way.
— 9:40 a.m., officers were out with a male on Center Street near North 5th Street regarding a previous incident. A cellphone was seized. Officers cleared.
— 9:54 a.m., officers were out on the 1400 block of South Zane Highway regarding a parking complaint. The vehicle owner was on scene upon arrival, and the vehicle was towed to Naylor’s Towing.
— 11:36 a.m., officers were out on the 400 block of Jefferson Street to speak with a female regarding child neglect allegations. Belmont County Children’s Protective Services was notified, and a report will be done on the incident. Officers cleared.
— 2:01 p.m., officers were out on South 3rd Street near Hanover regarding a civil issue.
— 2:10 p.m., officers were out on the 1200 block of Indiana Street regarding an accident with no injuries. All information was taken for a report.
— 2:51 p.m., officers were out on the 500 block of North 7th Street regarding a property complaint. Officers spoke with a group of individuals with a permit to work in the area. Officers cleared.
— 3:26 p.m., officers were out on the 700 block of Catawba Street for a welfare check on a female. Officers had negative contact; however, dispatch spoke with the female and everything was fine.
— 3:45 p.m., officers were out on the 800 block of West Vine Street regarding a neighbor dispute. Officers will do extra patrols in the area.
— 4:23 p.m., officers were out on Terrace Street near Vineway Street with a disabled vehicle. Officers were able to help the driver get the vehicle moving. Officers cleared.
— 5:52 p.m., officers were flagged down by a female on the 200 block of North 7th Street regarding a civil issue.
— 6:18 p.m., a male came on station to speak with an officer regarding a custody dispute. Belmont County Sheriff’s Office assisted by conducting a welfare check on a juvenile. Martins Ferry Police Department conducted a welfare check on a female. Officers cleared.
— 7:44 p.m., officers were out on the 200 block of North 5th Street regarding a burglar alarm activation. Officers had negative contact with anyone. All doors were secure. All units cleared.
— 8:21 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Public Road. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for a speed violation.
— 9:13 p.m., officers were out on State Route 7 near Hanover Street with a dog running at large. The dog was returned to its owner. Officers cleared.
— 10:02 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on the 400 block of Aetna Street. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for a turn signal violation and no headlights.
— 10:24 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Picoma Road. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.
— 10:36 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Picoma Road. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for a speed violation.
— 11:14 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on the 400 block of Aetna Street. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for no taillights.
— 11:35 p.m., officers were out with a disabled vehicle on State Route 7 near Hanover Street. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for a parking violation.
— 11:52 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on Ellet Street near North Zane Highway. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for improper display.
