BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— 11:10 p.m. Monday, a caller reported hearing voices on cameras at a residence on Webb Heights Road in Shadyside. The caller was not on scene and was unable to respond, the report indicated. A deputy responded and reported everything was secured.

— 8:03 p.m. Monday, a caller from Belmont County Hoof & Paw requested deputies at America’s Best Value Inn on National Road in St. Clairsville regarding the removal of several animals from a room. Deputies responded. The dog warden was called to take two dogs but was unable to due to capacity, the report indicated. Child Protective Services was advised. The hotel owner requested that the occupants vacate the premises by 11 p.m.

— 6:59 p.m. Monday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Red Roof Lane in St. Clairsville near Denny’s restaurant and issued a warning for a traffic light violation.

— 6:46 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Ohio Valley Plaza near Walmart and a vape shop for a report of a male who fell and hit his head. The caller was concerned about the individual driving after the incident. A deputy was on scene with EMS and the subject, the report stated.

— 6:23 p.m. Monday, a complainant from Center Street in Barton came to the station to report damage to her vehicle and items removed from it. A deputy gathered information for a theft report.

— 5:52 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Valley Plaza Drive outside Walmart in St. Clairsville for a property damage crash involving two vehicles. The responding officer was to return for security footage, according to the report.

— 5:28 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to Loretta Avenue in St. Clairsville to locate a missing female with mental health issues who could not walk far distances, the report stated. Officers checked several areas and eventually made contact with her. A deputy returned her to the residence at 6:33 p.m.

— 4:18 p.m. Monday, officers responded to America’s Best Value Inn on National Road in St. Clairsville for a report of animals tied outside a room. Three dogs were found inside and seven cats were located, the report stated. Belmont County Hoof & Paw and Child Protective Services were contacted. Hoof & Paw took some of the animals and worked with the owner.

— 4:05 p.m. Monday, a sergeant responded to a trailer court on Pear Street in Bethesda for a welfare check. Contact was made and everything was OK, according to the report.

— 3:53 p.m. Monday, a sergeant responded to Leatherwood Pike in Barnesville for an animal call. One injured deer was dispatched with one round.

— 1:56 p.m. Monday, a male with a history of mental health issues was reportedly being verbally combative on Speidel Road in Bethesda. Officers responded and the male voluntarily went to the hospital for evaluation.

— 8:03 a.m. Monday, units responded to Webb Heights Road in Shadyside for a report of a male having hallucinations. The male declined assistance after officers arrived.

— 7:57 a.m. Monday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported an item in the roadway at mile marker 222 on Interstate 70 westbound in Pease Township. Units responded but found nothing.

MARTINS FERRY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tuesday, June 2

— 1:16 a.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of Broadway Street regarding a civil issue involving a repossession company. The repossession company located a firearm inside a vehicle. Officers searched the vehicle but did not locate anything. Officers cleared.

— 7:42 a.m.: Officers responded to the 500 block of North Seventh Street regarding a minor two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Information was taken for a report. Officers cleared.

— 8:28 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1200 block of North Street regarding a previous incident.

— 11:26 a.m.: A traffic stop was initiated on state Route 7 near Picoma Road. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for speeding.

— 11:42 a.m.: A traffic stop was initiated on state Route 7 near Hanover Street. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for improper display.

— 12:28 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of Center Street for a welfare check on a female. Officers had negative contact.

— 2:45 p.m.: A female came to the station to speak with an officer regarding a scam. Officers provided advice and cleared.

— 3:46 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated on Carlisle Street near North Eighth Street. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for turn-signal and seat belt violations.

— 3:49 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated in the 400 block of Aetna Street. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for speeding.

— 4:05 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated in the 300 block of Hanover Street. The driver was identified as a male. Officers searched the vehicle and driver after probable cause was established but did not locate anything. A verbal warning was issued for improper display.

— 4:17 p.m.: A female came to the station to speak with an officer regarding a theft and telephone-harassment complaint. Officers provided advice because the incident did not occur within their jurisdiction.

— 5:16 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of Spence Lane for a welfare check on a female. Officers made contact and found everything was fine.

— 8:43 p.m.: Officers responded to the 900 block of Pearl Street regarding a noise complaint. Officers did not see or hear anything. The caller was advised to contact the police department if anything else was heard.

— 9 p.m.: A male came to the station to speak with an officer regarding a civil custody dispute. Officers cleared.

— 9:03 p.m.: An officer was flagged down regarding a parking complaint in the 700 block of Broadway Street.

— 9:53 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated on state Route 7 near Aetna Street. The driver was identified as a female and the passengers as a male and female. A verbal warning was issued for a marked-lanes violation.
