— 11:20 p.m. Thursday: A caller advised kids were causing problems at an address in Lafferty. An officer responded, but there were no kids at the residence upon arrival. The caller advised everyone had left and all was OK.

— 8:58 p.m. Thursday: A caller reported people in several vehicles in the lot at Aldi’s on Addie Way in St. Clairsville were causing a disturbance. An officer responded. No disturbance was observed, and the motorists were sent on their way.

— 7:43 p.m. Thursday: An officer responded to an address on Reservoir Hill Road in Flushing for a welfare check on an individual. Upon arrival, the officer did not locate the individual. There were fresh tire tracks that made it appear a vehicle had recently left, according to the report.

— 7:20 p.m. Thursday: A caller reported vandalism to his property on Ferry Landing Road in Shadyside. A deputy responded. Information was gathered for a report.

— 6:29 p.m. Thursday: A deputy was out with an occupied disabled vehicle on Bannock Road in St. Clairsville. The vehicle was off the roadway, according to the report.

— 5:56 p.m. Thursday: A deputy responded to an address on Uniontown-Flushing Road in Flushing after a caller reported two females tried to flag him down while he was leaving the residence. An officer responded but did not come in contact with the females along the road. The residence was secured, the deputy reported.

— 5:39 p.m. Thursday: A caller from Chick-fil-A on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville reported a male was yelling in the restroom. Richland Township units also responded. The male left in a red Jeep before officers arrived.

— 4:30 p.m. Thursday: A deputy responded to an address on Brackin Road in Martins Ferry after the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a tree had fallen on a motorist’s car on private property. The insurance company was contacted, according to the report.

— 3:48 p.m. Thursday: A complainant from an address on Town Hill Road in Bethesda requested a callback regarding someone siphoning gas from one of his vehicles. A deputy spoke with him. The complainant said he believed it happened at an animal hospital. He did not want to file a report but wanted a call record on file.

— 3:21 p.m. Thursday: A caller reported a burglary in progress, stating people were in his house on Uniontown-Flushing Road. A maroon vehicle was at the end of the driveway. A deputy responded to the scene and took a suspect to jail, according to the report.

— 2:43 p.m. Thursday: A complainant from an address on Chestnut Level in Belmont came to the station to report her bank had notified her that someone tried to cash a check from her checking account. The bank flagged the activity as fraudulent and did not cash it. She brought a picture of the canceled check and said the forged signature looked similar to hers, but the corresponding check was still in her checkbook at home and she did not know the person it was made out to. She requested a report and asked deputies to investigate further. She was advised to follow up with her bank’s fraud department. A written statement was obtained for a report.

— 1:27 p.m. Thursday: Officers responded to Trinity Hospital in St. Clairsville after a caller reported a male ran from the hospital after being pink-slipped. A deputy detained the male at a nearby business.

— 1:17 p.m. Thursday: A deputy responded to the Belmont County Jail for a report of an assault. Information was taken for a report.

— 11:02 a.m. Thursday: A caller from an address on Colerain Pike in Martins Ferry reported an attempted fraud involving her checking account. The incident was determined to be a scam attempt. The caller’s money remained in her account, according to the report.

— 11 a.m. Thursday: A caller from an address on Poland Road in Flushing reported a large snake in his house. An officer responded but was unable to locate the snake.

— 10:51 a.m. Thursday: A caller reported having issues with a neighbor at an address on North Park Drive in Wilson over property. The caller was in Florida. She said she had contacted the property owner last year to have items removed, and nothing was done. An officer advised her the matter was civil.

— 10:27 a.m. Thursday: A caller from Beech Spring Road in Yorkville reported a landowner made threats toward one of the drivers. A deputy responded and spoke with both parties involved. Information was taken for a report.

— 10:20 a.m. Thursday: A complainant from an address on Lorain Avenue in Bridgeport came to the station and stated that for the last several years she had held onto a .22-caliber firearm for her neighbor, who no longer wanted it back. The complainant said she did not want the firearm and was surrendering it to the sheriff’s office. An officer removed the firearm from her vehicle, made it safe, boxed it and secured it in evidence for holding. An information-only report was to be completed.

— 8:36 a.m. Thursday: An officer responded to an address on Key-Bellaire Road in Bellaire for a report of an injured deer and dispatched the animal.
