Bellaire Finance Committee meeting set for Friday

BELLAIRE — The Village of Bellaire Finance Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Friday.

The meeting will be held in Council Chambers on the second floor of the Municipal Building.

ODOT announces Belmont County construction updates

BELMONT COUNTY — The Ohio Department of Transportation is reminding motorists of several ongoing and upcoming construction projects throughout Belmont County.

Major construction continues on the Interstate 70 and state Route 149 interchange improvement project at Exit 208 near Morristown. One lane of traffic will be maintained on I-70 during construction. Traffic impacts on SR 149 are expected to begin in fall 2026. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2029.

A resurfacing project is underway on 11 miles of U.S. Route 40 from Lady Bend Hill near I-70 east to the western edge of St. Clairsville. Traffic is being maintained with flaggers. The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2026.

U.S. 40 remains closed at the Blaine Hill Bridge west of Bridgeport between County Road 10 and County Road 214 for a bridge rehabilitation project. The official detour follows U.S. 40 east to I-70 west and back to U.S. 40. The bridge is expected to reopen by July 1, with the overall project scheduled for completion by Oct. 31.

Also underway is an eight-mile resurfacing project on SR 147 from Barnesville through Bethesda to just west of Belmont. Traffic is being maintained with flaggers. Completion is scheduled for Sept. 30.

A culvert repair project on SR 149 west of Neffs-Bellaire Road also is underway. Flaggers may be used as needed. The project is expected to be completed by July 31.

ODOT details Harrison County road projects

HARRISON COUNTY — The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced several projects that may affect traffic in Harrison County. All work is weather permitting.

Beginning June 8, SR 149 will close just south of the SR 149-SR 9 intersection in New Athens for approximately 21 days for a culvert replacement project. Traffic will be detoured via SR 331, U.S. 22, SR 519 and SR 9.

Work continues on a major pavement rehabilitation project on U.S. 22 between Cadiz and County Road 13. The project involves removing and replacing nearly four miles of pavement through the four-lane section of the highway. One lane of traffic will be maintained throughout construction, though ramp closures may occur periodically.

A culvert replacement project also is underway on SR 212 west of the SR 212-SR 151 intersection in Bowerston. No significant traffic impacts are expected, although temporary flagging may be used when equipment is moved to and from the work site. The project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 30.
