Smith Township trustees to hold July 13 meetings

SMITHFIELD — The Smith Township Board of Trustees will hold two meetings on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Smith Township Park in Smithfield.

The meetings include a 5:30 p.m. annual 2027 budget review session, followed by the regular monthly trustee meeting at 6 p.m.

Belmont County student graduates from Ohio Connections Academy

COLUMBUS — A Belmont County student was among more than 480 graduates recognized in Ohio Connections Academy’s Class of 2026 during commencement ceremonies held June 6 at the Ohio Expo Center.

The tuition-free online public school reported that its graduating class collectively earned more than $2.2 million in scholarships and awards.

Belmont County graduates included Kennedi Chesonis of Shadyside and Alexa Reed of Martins Ferry.

Ohio Hills Health Centers opens pharmacy in Barnesville

BARNESVILLE — Ohio Hills Health Centers has opened a new closed-door pharmacy at its Barnesville location, expanding access to prescription services for its medical, dental and behavioral health patients.

Located at 101 E. Main St., the pharmacy operates under the 340B Drug Pricing Program and is designed to reduce costs for patients while improving access to care.

The pharmacy is led by John Jeffries, a pharmacist with more than 40 years of experience, and Alicia Rataiczak, pharmacy technician with more than eight years in retail pharmacy.

Smith Township Community Day set for July 18

SMITH TOWNSHIP — The Smith Township Volunteer Fire Department and Smith Township Community Center will host a Community Day on Saturday, July 18, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 225th anniversary of Belmont County.

The event will include a vendor and craft show, car cruise-in, parade, food vendors, games and family activities throughout the day.

Brunch on the Farm set for July 18 in Bloomingdale

BLOOMINGDALE — The second annual Jefferson County Brunch on the Farm will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mercer Farms.

The event will feature wagon tours, agricultural demonstrations, hands-on exhibits, a kids’ zone and local food vendors, highlighting modern farming practices and conservation education.
