ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Get ready to come hungry for St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Food Truck Fridays throughout the summer.

Friday saw Izzy’s Food Truck & Catering LLC serving smash burgers, sandwiches and Kirke’s ice cream on Main Street for residents.

St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Kindler said the annual summer event provides an opportunity for people to provide employees who work on Main Street with an additional food option each Friday.

“We like doing it because it brings in different local businesses that are trying to make money with their business on Main Street,” Kindler said. “Also a big part of it is that we like to try and bring people to come and visit these food trucks, but to also see what we have on Main Street, as well as our other businesses, restaurants and activities that we have on Main Street in St. Clairsville.”

She added the goal of the events is to get residents to come to Main Street to shop and eat.

Izzy’s No. 2 manager Brandon Stern said the food truck loves coming to serve residents of St. Clairsville.

“We just love coming here, the people are friendly, the city’s friendly, they welcome us back every time, and we just love serving food here,” Stern said.

Throughout the summer, a different area food truck will set up directly in front of the Belmont County Heritage Museum at 11 a.m. Kindler said most trucks will serve from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but some may stay until they sell out of food.

She added that June and July are completely booked, but she has yet to schedule any Fridays in August due to uncertainty over when the courthouse’s Veterans Plaza construction project will take place. She said she recently received word she will be able to book food trucks in August and said anyone interested should call the chamber at (740) 695-9623.

Kindler said that, besides July 3, the only time a food truck will not be on Main Street on Fridays is if someone does not show up or the weather is too bad.

She added that next week will feature a new addition to the rotation, with Loaded Up Food Truck participating in its first Food Truck Friday.
