Belmont County road projects continue
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Ohio Department of Transportation announced several ongoing construction projects in Belmont County that may affect traffic.
Major work continues on the Interstate 70 and state Route 149 interchange improvement project at Exit 208 near Morristown. One lane of traffic is being maintained on I-70 during construction. Traffic impacts on SR 149 are expected to begin this fall. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2029.
Other projects include resurfacing on 11 miles of U.S. Route 40 between Lady Bend Hill and St. Clairsville, bridge rehabilitation at Blaine Hill Bridge near Bridgeport, resurfacing on SR 147 between Barnesville and Belmont, and a culvert repair project on SR 149 west of Neffs-Bellaire Road.

Harrison County projects may affect traffic
CADIZ — The Ohio Department of Transportation is advising motorists of several construction projects underway in Harrison County.
State Route 149 is closed south of the SR 149-SR 9 intersection in New Athens for approximately 21 days for a culvert replacement project. Traffic is being detoured via SR 331, U.S. 22, SR 519 and SR 9.
Work also continues on a pavement rehabilitation project on U.S. 22 between Cadiz and County Road 13. One lane of traffic is being maintained during construction, though ramp closures may occur periodically.
A culvert replacement project is underway on SR 212 west of the SR 212-SR 151 intersection in Bowerston. No major traffic impacts are expected. The project is scheduled for completion by Sept. 30.

Regional Solid Waste Authority meeting set
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Board will hold its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at 67895 Pickering Road, St. Clairsville.
Board meetings are open to the public. Residents are encouraged to contact the authority’s office on the day of the meeting to confirm there have been no schedule changes or cancellations.
Martins Ferry Council to meet
MARTINS FERRY — Martins Ferry City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers at the city building.
The meeting is open to the public.
Union Local BOE sets regular meeting
MORRISTOWN — The Union Local School District Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, in the central office conference room.
Yorkville produce distribution dates set for 2026
YORKVILLE — The Yorkville Produce Distribution has released its 2026 schedule, with monthly distributions planned Saturdays from April through October.
New directors Robbie Criss and Ronica Criss, along with their four daughters, announced the schedule and apologized for the late notice, noting it is their first time serving in the role. They said they are working under the guidance of Pastor David Forsythe of Gateway Apostolic Church.
Distribution dates are June 13, July 11, August 8, Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
