MARTINS FERRY POLICE DEPARTMENT

FRIDAY

— 6:46 a.m. Officers were out on North 10th Street near Colerain Pike regarding a parking complaint. Officers were unable to contact the vehicle owner; however, a parking citation was issued.

— 7:49 a.m. A traffic stop was initiated on North 1st Street near Wood Street. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for improper display.

— 8:33 a.m. A traffic stop was initiated on Ohio 7 near Hanover Street. The driver was identified as a female. A written citation was issued for expired registration.

— 11:11 a.m. Martins Ferry Police assisted Adult Probation in the 600 block of Columbus Avenue.

— 1:07 p.m. An officer was flagged down in the 200 block of North 8th Street regarding a property complaint. Officers attempted contact with the property owner in the 800 block of Jefferson Street but were unsuccessful.

— 1:40 p.m. An officer was flagged down in the 300 block of Center Street regarding a civil dispute. Officers provided advice to a female.

— 2:11 p.m. Officers were out in the 300 block of Hanover Street for a welfare check on a female. Officers were unable to make contact.

— 3:33 p.m. Officers were out in the 1800 block of North 9th Street regarding the theft of medication. Information was taken for a report.

— 4:40 p.m. A male came to the station to speak with an officer regarding a previous incident.

— 5:12 p.m. Martins Ferry Police assisted Bridgeport Police with an incident on Adolph Street near Brand Avenue.

— 6:38 p.m. Officers were out in the 1800 block of Hill Street regarding a noise complaint. The individuals were advised of the noise ordinance.

— 8:32 p.m. Officers were out in the 300 block of North Zane Highway regarding a minor two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Information was taken for a report.

— 8:51 p.m. Martins Ferry Police assisted Martins Ferry EMS with a medical call in the 1800 block of Hill Street.

— 9:08 p.m. A traffic stop was initiated on Broadway Street near Monroe Street. The driver was identified as a male. A verbal warning was issued for no taillights.

— 10:12 p.m. Officers were out in the 600 block of Washington Street regarding a noise complaint. The individuals were advised of the noise ordinance.

— 10:19 p.m. Officers were out in the 500 block of North 7th Street regarding a parking complaint. The vehicle was chalked and will be checked at a later date.

— 10:44 p.m. A traffic stop was initiated in the 300 block of Hanover Street. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for improper display.

— 10:48 p.m. A traffic stop was initiated on North 4th Street near Short Street. The driver was identified as a female. Officers received consent to search the vehicle, but no contraband was found. A verbal warning was issued for no brake lights.

BELMONT SHERIFF’S OFFICE

— 9:13 p.m. Thursday, a deputy assisted St. Clairsville Police on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near the St. Clairsville on-ramp.

— 8:01 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a call from the Ohio State Highway Patrol about a truck driving erratically on Interstate 70 westbound near mile marker 213 in St. Clairsville. A deputy located the vehicle and drove alongside it. The deputy noted the driver was traveling the speed limit.

— 7:57 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Colerain Pike in Martins Ferry reported ongoing neighbor issues involving trespassing.

— 6:37 p.m. Thursday, a deputy accompanied a female prisoner from the Belmont County Jail to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital. They returned to the jail at 12:59 a.m.

— 4:42 p.m. Thursday, a sergeant was out with a complainant at an address on West Center Street in Bridgeport, where a neighbor reportedly destroyed property. The water department also was contacted regarding shrubs and blocks placed too close to a fire hydrant. Information was taken for a report to be sent to the prosecutor’s office.

— 2:12 p.m. Thursday, a complainant from an address on Lafferty Road in St. Clairsville came to the station to speak with a deputy about an incident involving the landlord’s son, who is also a neighbor. The complainant said he was mowing grass May 26 when the landlord’s son knocked headphones from around his neck and threatened to shoot the complainant’s son if he entered the house again without knocking. The complainant did not want to file charges but wanted the incident documented.

— 2:09 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a location on Handel Street in Bridgeport for a report of a male making threats. One male was detained, and consent was given to search the residence. The incident was verbal only, and a female was leaving for the night. Officers spoke with both parties separately and determined no threats had been made and no criminal activity occurred.

— 12:21 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out at an address on South Walnut Street in Martins Ferry where an eviction notice was being served.

— 12:15 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out at an address on Euclid Avenue in Martins Ferry where an eviction notice was being served.

— 11:33 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on Allen Avenue in Powhatan Point for a report of the caller’s mother being harassed. Information was taken for a report.

— 10:22 a.m. Thursday, officers took information from a cyber tip regarding an alleged sex offense. The address listed was on South 10th Street in Martins Ferry.

— 10:21 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on East Captina Highway in Powhatan Point after a caller complained a neighbor removed her mailbox. A deputy advised it was a civil matter.

— 10:07 a.m. Thursday, a caller from Blaine-Chermont Road in Bridgeport complained about a neighbor playing loud music. A sergeant advised the complainant to call while the incident was occurring.

— 9:47 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported her vehicle had been left in the parking lot at Freno’s Bar & Grill and was struck overnight. A note was left on the vehicle. A deputy responded and took information for a crash report.

— 7:53 a.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Parway Drive in Rayland reported someone broke into his vehicle overnight. A deputy responded and took information for a report.

— 3:59 a.m. Thursday, a caller from Sheetz Security on Addie Way in St. Clairsville reported four individuals in ski masks trying to break into employees’ vehicles. Units responded and identified all parties. None of the vehicles had been entered. The individuals, who were in a vehicle with California plates, left the area.

— 12:37 a.m. Thursday, a 911 call with an open line was received from Undo’s West on National Road in St. Clairsville. An argument between a male and female could be heard. Officers responded.

— 12:16 a.m. Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a suspicious vehicle on Crescent Road in St. Clairsville. The vehicle, displaying a temporary Ohio tag, had its hazard lights activated and was unattended. A deputy responded.

— 5:07 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of domestic trouble at an apartment in St. Clairsville. A caller reported a male involved in an argument was driving recklessly with a child and a gun in the vehicle. Officers located and detained the male at Planet Fitness. Consent was given to search the vehicle, but neither a gun nor a child was found. The report indicated the caller’s account did not match what occurred. The male was released.

— 3:32 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from Love’s Travel Center on Reco Road in Belmont reported three people panhandling in the parking lot. A sergeant responded but did not locate them. Their vehicle had already left the area.

— 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant met with a complainant at Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery on High Ridge Road in St. Clairsville regarding the theft of two flower-vase holders from separate graves.

— 11:39 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Belmont-Centerville Road in Belmont for a report of an individual in distress. Emergency medical personnel were on scene, and the patient was transported to a hospital.

— 12:59 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on U.S. 250 in Colerain to take information regarding a possible theft.

— 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, officers were out at an address on National Road in St. Clairsville regarding a male experiencing a mental health issue. A Coleman professional responded and determined the male was OK.

— 2:01 a.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to a two-vehicle crash with property damage only at Love’s Travel Center on Belmont-Morristown Road. Information was taken for a crash report.
