ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District is entering a new era of leadership as Christina Laudermilt has been named superintendent, marking a formal transition after serving as interim superintendent since February. The transition will be effective Aug. 1.

Laudermilt has served as interim superintendent since February and brings nearly two decades of experience within the district.

She began her career in St. Clairsville in 2007 as a mathematics teacher. Over the years, she has moved through several leadership roles, including director of curriculum and instruction in 2015 and assistant superintendent in 2021, building a long record of district-level leadership.

“Mrs. Laudermilt’s unwavering dedication to our students, staff and community, combined with her proven leadership experience and work ethic, made her the clear choice to serve as our next superintendent,” said Mike Jacob, president of the St. Clairsville City Schools Board of Education. “Her knowledge of the district, vision for the future and commitment to excellence will help ensure continued success for our schools.”

As superintendent, Laudermilt said she plans to prioritize strong relationships with students, families, staff and community members through open communication and transparency while continuing to build on the district’s traditions.

“It is truly an honor to serve the district that has been my professional home for nearly twenty years,” Laudermilt said. “Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside outstanding educators, dedicated staff members, supportive families and a community that deeply values education. I am grateful to the Board of Education for their confidence in me and excited for the opportunity to continue serving our students in this new role.”

She also emphasized communication and collaboration as central to her leadership approach moving forward.

“I believe that strong schools are built on trust, transparency and meaningful partnerships,” she said. “My goal is to ensure that our families, staff, students and community members feel informed, valued and engaged in the work we do every day. Together, we will continue to honor our district’s traditions while embracing opportunities that prepare our students for the future.”

Under Laudermilt’s leadership, the district will continue its focus on academic excellence, student achievement, innovation and expanding opportunities designed to prepare students for success in an evolving world.
