Body of 5-year-old boy found near Lewisville following flash flood

The body of a missing 5-year-old boy was found near Lewisville following a flash flood, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 5, 2026, at approximately 7:14 p.m., Monroe County Dispatch received a report of a missing 5-year-old boy in the Lewisville community following a recent flash flood event.

Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, along with members of the Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department, responded immediately and began an extensive search of the area. The search effort included deputies, firefighters, and numerous members of the Lewisville community.

Following a coordinated search, the body of the missing 5-year-old was located in a creek drainage area near State Route 78.

The incident remains under investigation by Detectives with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. At this time, no additional information is being released.
