ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Approximately 110 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 132 grams of marijuana were seized during a traffic stop Wednesday on Mall Road in St. Clairsville.

Donald Daniels, 36, of Cleveland, was arrested following the stop, which concluded a months-long drug investigation.

Detectives with the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission conducted the traffic stop and arrested Daniels.

According to Belmont County Sheriff James G. Zusack, the quantity of suspected crack cocaine seized qualifies Daniels for a major drug offender specification under Ohio law. Zusack commended the Criminal Interdiction Unit for its continued efforts to prevent illegal narcotics from reaching Belmont County communities.

Daniels was booked into the Belmont County Jail on one count of possession of drugs and one count of trafficking in drugs. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
