-- 11:42 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault at an address in Bellaire. A man reported that his 15-year-old son was hit by a neighbor. The boy and neighborhood children reportedly rode by in a golf cart and the neighbor allegedly hit him on the leg. The neighbor denied hitting the teen, saying the juveniles were always causing problems in the neighborhood and riding golf carts and four-wheelers on the road. The neighbor said he hit the back of the golf cart and told the juveniles to get off the road. The boy's father said his son had a red mark on his leg from where the neighbor hit him. Information was taken for a report and was to be forwarded to the prosecutor for further review.
-- 11:36 p.m., a caller advised that she pulled into West Wheeling and two children jumped out of the weeds. She thought they were going to steal her car, she said. She was en route to the Bridgeport Police Department. A deputy spoke with the complainant. Martins Ferry police officers spoke to the juveniles, who said they were out playing and thought the complainant needed help. All was well, according to officers.
-- 11:28 p.m., a deputy assisted a Shadyside police officer with a report of a drunk man on a back porch.
-- 11:14 p.m., a deputy was traveling eastbound on Interstate 470 in St. Clairsville when he observed a black work van swerving across the lines on the roadway and traveling in the left lane. He initiated a traffic stop. The driver said she was from New York and was not familiar with Ohio traffic laws, according to the report. A warning was issued for distracted driving and inhibiting the flow of traffic.
-- 11 p.m., a deputy responded to the Shadyside Police Department on East 39th Street for a report of vandalism. A complainant reported that someone she knew threw rocks at her car and that her car was now smoking. She showed the officer damage to the vehicle, which the officer determined was from someone backing into her car, not from a rock. Both parties were advised to stop harassing each other and to stay away from each other.
-- 10:32 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration called to report that someone was pointing a green laser at a plane from somewhere north of Interstate 70 and National Road near Blaine Chermont Road in Bridgeport. A deputy patrolled the area but found nothing.
-- 10:11 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to an address in Bellaire for a report of domestic trouble. Upon speaking with individuals there, the officer determined that it was a civil issue. Parties were advised to separate for the night. One individual said they would be staying somewhere else.
-- 9:54 p.m., a deputy was at the Belmont College Health Science Center checking on a few suspicious vehicles in the CDL training lot. There were three unoccupied vehicles in the lot.
-- 7:24 p.m., residents of the Multi County Apartments on Hope Lane in Bridgeport complained of a man who was moving out and intimidating them. A sergeant responded and advised all parties to avoid each other.
-- 7:19 p.m., a caller from St. Clairsville reported a wallet stolen with credit cards inside. Charges had been made to the credit card, according to the complaint. A sergeant responded and took information for a theft report.
-- 6:03 p.m., a caller from an address in Bridgeport reported that she did not need a response but wanted a record on file regarding her unnamed neighbor barking at her. The nature of the incident was listed as neighbor trouble.
-- 4:28 p.m., a man from Shadyside called to report a missing woman. The call location was listed as the Hampton Inn on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville. A deputy responded and took information for a missing person report.
-- 2:36 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville for a report from central dispatch about a suspicious person standing in the middle of the road. The call was handled by St. Clairsville police before the arrival of a deputy. The individual was not located.
-- 12:55 p.m., a caller from St. Clairsville requested a welfare check on her daughter. A woman was listed as being from an address in Bridgeport. A deputy made contact with the daughter. Everything was fine and she was advised to contact her mother.
-- 12:44 a.m., units were dispatched to the Valleyview Campground on National Road in Belmont for a report of a 911 hangup call. While deputies were en route, another 911 call was received from the same location and a woman stated on the line, "are you going to get here already?" Then the call disconnected. Deputies arrived and spoke with the original caller, who advised that her husband had already left before they arrived. This was a verbal argument only and she did not wish to pursue anything.
-- 12:36 a.m., units responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at an address in Bridgeport. A caller reported a man on his front porch with something in his hand. The man had attempted the screen door, but the caller's door was locked from the inside. A deputy responded along with a Bridgeport police officer. The man was armed with a machete, according to the report, which stated that he was taken into custody.
-- 5:55 a.m., a sergeant was out on Interstate 70 near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
