Officers responded, but both parties left prior to their arrival. An officer spoke to a male over the phone, and he advised that it was only a verbal argument and they had separated for the night.
-- 10:15 p.m., an officer on a traffic stop on South Marion Street in Bridgeport near the Interstate 70 westbound exit issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with no lights.
-- 9:49 p.m., an officer responded to a location on South Lincoln Avenue in Bridgeport to check on a female. The officer gave her a ride and dropped her off at the car wash near Big Lots.
-- 9:43 p.m., a deputy on a traffic stop on National Road in Brookside near Dairy Queen issued a verbal warning to an Ohio motorist for an equipment violation.
-- 9:41 p.m., a female called about people pounding on windows at Softite Community Federal Credit Union on National Road in St. Clairsville. The business was locked up, and the caller was in the lunchroom, according to the report. Officers responded and checked the area but found nothing. Units stood by until the caller’s husband arrived.
-- 8:20 p.m., an officer on a traffic stop on South Marietta Street in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a motorist for driving with no headlights.
-- 8:15 p.m., a deputy on a traffic stop on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville near Dollar Tree issued a warning to a motorist for driving with no headlights.
-- 6:58 p.m., units responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress at an address on Belmont Avenue in Bridgeport. A caller reported that two males were trying to break into the flea market. One subject took off toward the apartments. The second one got into a vehicle and left. A police unit performed a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description in West Wheeling. This was not the correct individual, according to the report.
-- 5:43 p.m., a caller reported that a male was mowing grass at a location in Shadyside and blowing grass clippings into the road and onto cars. An officer responded.
-- 5:08 p.m., a caller asked to speak to a deputy regarding ongoing issues with a neighbor in Bridgeport. The caller was advised to continue to document what was going on and to look into getting a civil protection order.
-- 2:10 p.m., a student wanted to report a sexual assault that did not occur at the school in Belmont, Union Township. An officer responded and took information for a report. The nature of the incident was listed as a sex offense.
-- 8 a.m., a deputy was driving a cruiser and ran over an object in the roadway on Interstate 470 westbound in Bellaire, causing minor damage to the vehicle.
-- 12:03 a.m., a caller said he was talking to his sister when his stepdad tried fighting him and made threats to shoot him. The caller stated that after he left the address in Belmont, his stepfather went outside with a firearm. This was caught on camera, according to the caller. Units responded and spoke to the parties. No one wanted to pursue any charges.
MONDAY
-- 9:56 p.m., a 15-year-old male from Belmont reported that his grandfather assaulted him. A deputy responded. The juvenile was going to his uncle’s residence, and Child Protective Services was notified.
-- 8:05 p.m., units responded to the Village Network Youth Center on National Road in Morristown for a report of a 16-year-old juvenile assaulting staff and destroying property. A deputy transported the male to the Sargus Juvenile Detention Center.
-- 7:25 p.m., a caller reported that a male was having an altercation with a cab driver in St. Clairsville. The male was riding with the female caller. The male was dropped off. He was intoxicated and threw a rock at the cab, cracking the windshield, according to the report. The female was dropped off in Wheeling. Units responded.
-- 5:43 p.m., a caller reported that her son was supposed to be at an after-school program but was dropped off by the bus instead. The child was alone and was locked out of the apartment in Bellaire for about 30 minutes. The caller was not home at the time and was notified by her property manager that her son was outside alone. The caller had already reported the issue to school administration. The school resource officer at Bellaire was notified.
-- 2:47 p.m., the Belmont County Jail scanned a prisoner with a body scanner, and several foreign bodies were noted. He was sent to Trinity Medical Center in St. Clairsville for a medical evaluation. A secondary scan was performed, and the medical staff stated that it appeared he had multiple baggies of narcotics inside of him. He refused further treatment. A search warrant was completed, and he was transported to Trinity in Steubenville for further medical evaluation, according to the report. The inmate in question was originally in jail on a petty theft charge.
-- 10:45 a.m., a deputy was out at a location on Lucas-Lash Road in Belmont investigating a littering/illegal dumping complaint involving tires and trash at this location. Photos were obtained, and information was forwarded to the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA was to follow up on the tire complaint.
